Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter tells the incredible story of Cathy Terkanian's pursuit to find her missing daughter Alexis Miranda Badger, whom she had given up for adoption. In 2010, Cathy received a letter from a social worker, explaining that her daughter, whom she had given up for adoption in the mid-70s, disappeared in 1989.

Alexis was adopted by Dennis and Brenda Bowman from Hamilton, Michigan, who named her Aundria Bowman. After an extensive investigation, it was found that Dennis had murdered Aundria and buried her under the 3200 block of 136th Avenue of Monterey Township in Allegan County. Dennis was already under investigation for the murder of Kathleen Doyle, which happened in 1980.

Brenda was supportive of her husband during the initial investigation, refusing to believe that her husband could be capable of such brutality. She was never connected to or treated as a conspirator for her husband's crimes.

However, many people have expressed anger about her absence from legal repercussions. There has been suspicion that Brenda was aware of Aundria's abuse by Dennis, but did not take any action.

After her husband's trial, she has been away from the media. In Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter, a statement regarding Brenda reads:

“Brenda Bowman declined to be interviewed and did not respond to requests for comment.”

She currently resides alone in Michigan.

What happened to Aundria Bowman, the adopted daughter of Brenda Bowman?

In 1989, Aundria Bowman mysteriously vanished from her adoptive family's property in Hamilton, Michigan. Her adoptive father Dennis Bowman claimed that she ran away from home after stealing some money.

She was classified as a missing person for over 30 years until Cathy Terkanian started looking into her mysterious disappearance. Her relentless pursuit for almost a decade brought the truth forward, as it was revealed that she was killed and buried by Dennis after a heated argument.

Dennis Bowman was arrested for her and Kathleen Doyle's murder in 2020 and was sentenced to two life sentences. While the authorities were questioning him for the murder of Kathleen, his wife Brenda Bowman was extremely supportive of him. However, after his confession, she parted from him and has maintained a distance from the media, refusing to be interviewed.
