William Connole's murder at the hands of Christopher Parker, an act of violence that has little to no explanation, is all set to be the subject of the latest episode of See No Evil on Investigation Discovery. The elderly man was shot to death while he was taking a walk on the night of June 3, 2015, in Loveland, Colorado. But he became the victim of a random act of violence, which then went on to torment many others.
This case is the subject of See No Evil season 13 episode 8, titled The Painted Truck. This episode airs on October 2, 2024, at 9 pm EST. The synopsis for the case reads:
"Detectives turn to CCTV footage following the shooting of an elderly man talking a nighttime walk in Loveland, Texas; the surveillance images reveal that the driver of an old pickup truck could hold the key to identifying the man's killer."
Christopher Parker was not immediately brought to justice, but with diligent work from the police, he was eventually caught and charged with the murder of William Connole. He would go on to take a plea deal, which would convict him for second-degree murder.
He was ultimately sentenced to 39 years in prison, where he remains now and will possibly remain for quite a long time to come.
What did Christopher Parker do?
On July 3, 2015, an unassuming William Connole stepped out for work, but he was shot at the intersection of East 1st Street and North St. Louis Avenue in Loveland, Colorado. He sustained a fatal injury and passed away. This incident occurred around 10:45 pm. Just 15 minutes after Connole's murder, a motorcyclist was also shot, but he managed to survive his injuries.
As the authorities arrived, they quickly connected the two cases and established that numerous public shootings took place in the area. Months before this murder, Cori Romero was shot, and so was another victim, who also lost their life.
The only clue the police had about the shooter was a photo of a pickup truck, which was captured when Parker shot Connole.
As the police followed this lead, they eventually narrowed down on Christopher Parker, who was soon arrested and charged with the murder.
Where is Christopher Parker now?
While Christopher Parker had no prior conviction to his name, he had all the forensic evidence against him. This evidence was enough for the police to charge and sentence him for at least the murder of Connole, though it would have been hard to connect him to the other shootings.
He was charged with degree murder after deliberation and attempted first-degree murder after deliberation, but his defense argued that he struggled with multiple mental health issues following a series of traumatic events in his personal life.
Ultimately, in 2023. Christopher Parker took a plea deal for second-degree murder and was sentenced to 39 years in prison. He currently remains incarcerated at the Buena Vista Correctional Complex, where he will remain at least till his next parole hearing scheduled for August 2046.
The upcoming episode of See No Evil will cover this case in more detail.
