Christopher Prestipino, Casandra Garrett, and Lisa Mort were implicated in the tragic death of 24-year-old Esmeralda Gonzalez in 2019. Currently, Christopher Prestipino is serving a sentence at High Desert State Prison in Susanville, California.

In April 2023, he was sentenced to 10 to 25 years for second-degree murder and 5 to 15 years for kidnapping, with these sentences running concurrently. Prestipino entered an Alford plea acknowledging sufficient evidence for a conviction without admitting guilt.

Casandra Garrett is also incarcerated, serving a sentence at the Florence McClure Women’s Correctional Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison with the possibility of parole after eight years. Garrett pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon as part of a plea deal that involved her cooperation in leading police to Gonzalez's body.

On the other hand, Lisa Mort pleaded guilty to being an accessory to murder and received a sentence of 24 to 60 months. According to the Nevada Department of Corrections, she was released from prison in February 2022.

Christopher Prestipino, Casandra Garrett, and Lisa Mort were involved in the murder of 24-year-old Las Vegas model Esmeralda Gonzalez. Her death and the subsequent disposal of her body became a widely reported case.

Christopher Prestipino, 49, played a central role in the crime. He was accused of kidnapping and murdering Esmeralda Gonzalez. According to police reports, Prestipino injected Gonzalez with pool cleaner, which is a substance known to be deadly if administered intravenously, as part of an attempt to subdue her during a methamphetamine-fueled encounter at his residence.

After the injection, it is believed that he strangled her. To conceal the crime, Prestipino, with assistance, encased Gonzalez's body in concrete inside a homemade wooden structure, which was later discovered in a remote desert area outside Las Vegas.

Casandra Garrett was implicated as an accomplice in the murder. Garrett’s involvement included helping Prestipino restrain and ultimately murder Gonzalez. She was present during the crime and participated in the decision-making process regarding how to handle the situation after Gonzalez was injected and strangled.

Garrett later played a crucial role in leading authorities to Gonzalez’s body. Her cooperation with law enforcement was part of a plea agreement that resulted in her pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon. She was handed a 20-year prison sentence with the possibility of parole after eight years.

Lisa Mort was involved in the aftermath of the murder. Her role was primarily as an accessory after the fact. Mort was aware of the murder and helped cover it up by not reporting it and potentially assisting in the cleanup or concealment of evidence.

Mort pleaded guilty to this charge and was sentenced to a prison term of 24 to 60 months. She served her sentence and was released on parole in December of the year she was sentenced. She eventually completed her parole period by February 2022.
