Where is Connie Seawater now? All About This is the Zodiac Speaking subject explored 

This is the Zodiac Speaking, which arrived on Netflix on October 23, 2024, with a three-episode long run, sheds more light on the Zodiac killer mystery, which remains unsolved to date.

This three-part documentary features Connie Seawater, a former student of Arthur Leigh Allen, the main suspect in the Zodiac killer case. This is the Zodiac Speaking also features interviews of the other Seawater siblings and people familiar with the Zodiac case.

Connie Seawater, David Seawater, and Don Seawater met Arthur Leigh Allen at Santa Rosa Elementary School

According to the Netflix series This is the Zodiac Speaking, Paul Fredrick Seawater, the father of the Seawater children, was arrested and imprisoned after being discovered to be an apparent psychopath. He allegedly molested Connie, prompting her to report him. After this, Paul Fredrick Seawater was taken to a mental institution and the children met with Arthur Leigh Allen, in his absence.

Connie and her brothers met Arthur at Santa Rosa Elementary School for the first time, where he worked as a new teacher. Because of Arthur Allen's cheerful demeanor, the children were enamored with him quickly.

According to the show, the children referred to the alleged killer as Mr. Allen. Their mother was also amiable, so they started inviting Mr Allen over regularly. Mr Allen eventually grew extremely close to all of the children, and they would accompany him on vacations and trips regularly.

Arthur Leigh Allen used to give the Seawater kids a lift home every day. He treated the children as if they were his own. He was a good swimmer and a state-champion platform diver. In the classroom, he would teach students how to decode messages and ciphers and the children seemed to adore him.

Here is how Connie Seawater described her first impression of Arthur Leigh Allen,

“When I met him, I was in awe. He was like the Hoss Cartwright off of Bonanza."

However, things did not remain sunny for a long time. In This is the Zodiac Speaking, Connie revealed how Arthur Leigh Allen drugged her and her brother and they have no memory of what happened next. Another incident that Connie recalled was when she went sailing with Arthur. She claimed to have asked him if he was the Zodiac, to which he had replied:

"If I told you that, I would have to kill you too."

In This is the Zodiac Speaking, the Seawater family members who watched the 2007 David Fincher film Zodiac, referred to the film as being "scary familiar". They found it difficult to accept that Allen was the culprit all along after seeing the events in the movie. They connected the dots and realized that nothing could be a coincidence, as the murders orchestrated by serial killers occurred in the same locations where they went with Arthur Leigh Allen.

However, by the time they watched the film and realized what was going on, Authur had already died of a heart attack and the Seawaters only had circumstantial evidence against him.

The case is still active and Connie Seawater hopes to find the truth sooner or later. With regards to that, she said on the show:

“The things that we connected the dots with are real and if they can somehow, someday help solve this case, whether it’s him or not , that would be great."
