The upcoming episode of A Plan to Kill on Oxygen will replay the double homicide carried out by theatre actor Daniel Wozniak in 2010. Wozniak confessed to the murders of Sam Herr and Julie Kibuishi in 2010 and was arrested for the same the following year.
In 2016, he was convicted on two counts of first-degree murder and was sentenced to death. However, as per reports by The U.S. Sun, Wozniak was moved from San Quentin State Prison to Salinas Valley State Prison after he participated in the Condemned Inmate Transfer Pilot Program.
As per prison records, Wozniak remains incarcerated at Salinas Valley State Prison, in Soledad, California, and it is unknown whether he is still on death row.

Sam Herr and Julie Kibuishi were killed by theatre actor Daniel Wozniak
Daniel Wozniak first killed his neighbor Sam Herr by luring him to a nearby theatre and shooting him twice in the head.
After the murder, he took Sam's phone, texted his friend Julie Kibuishi, and lured her into Sam's apartment the same night. He killed Julie similarly by shooting her in the head twice. He then staged the crime scene in a way that authorities began speculating that Sam had se*ually assaulted Julie, murdered her, and fled the scene.
As per Oxygen True Crime, when Julie Kibuishi's dead body was discovered on May 22, 2010, her jeans were pulled down and cut and the phrases, “All Yours” and “F*ck You” were written across her sweatshirt.
The detectives initially believed Sam Herr to be Julie's killer, however, Daniel Wozniak later confessed to killing both. Wozniak revealed that he needed money for his impending wedding. Therefore. he killed Sam so that he could use his combat pay savings $62000.
After killing Sam, Wozniak dismembered his body parts, threw them in different parts of the town, and kept his torso hidden in the theatre attic. All of Sam Herr's body parts were later discovered by the authorities, including his severed head.
Daniel Wozniak was arrested in 2010
Daniel Wozniak was arrested in 2010 after his confession. He was sentenced to death in 2016 and convicted on two counts of first-degree murder. Julie's mother, June Kibuishi, devastated after her daughter's tragic demise, said at Wozniak's sentencing in September 2016:
"This will never heal and go away. Julie will never come back to us. All our family can do is try to move forward one step at a time. We have waited six years for this day. At least we can close this most horrible chapter of our lives.”
Sam Herr's father, who was also present at the hearing, stated:
"You, Dan, are a coward and a poster boy for the need for an effective death penalty in California."
Alongside Wozniak, his fiancée Rachel Buffett, whom the investigators alleged was an accessory in this double homicide was also arrested in November 2012 and sentenced to 32 months behind bars on November 8, 2018. She was released in 2019.
Wozniak was held in San Quentin State Prison California until 2021, after which he was moved to Salinas Valley State Prison, once he enrolled in the Condemned Inmate Transfer Pilot Program.
