Port Perry is located 84 kilometers northeast of central Toronto, north of Oshawa, and east of Whitby. The production team of The Way Home filmed here for three days between August 16 and 18, 2022, according to local news outlet DurhamRegion.com. The shooting generally began at 7 am. and went on for 12 hours until 7 pm. The picturesque town gives the perfect backdrop to the fictional town of Port Haven, where the Landry family is based.

2) Durham

As per Showbiz Cheat Sheet, the production team also filmed scenes in a few notable places in the Regional Municipality of Durham in south-central Ontario. The township of Uxbridge is the prime setting for some key locations in the fictional town of Port Haven.

Production filmed interior and exterior scenes at the 139 Queen St., known locally as the Old Mill. Parmer Park and Mary Street were also utilized while shooting the exterior scenes, as per DurhamRegion.com. 121 Queen St., Scugog Lot 3 at 116 Water St., and Scugog Lot 5 at 204 Water St. were used for keeping filming equipment and parking production vehicles.
