After a series of true-crime documentaries and shows, Hulu is now all set to look at the perplexing case of Kaitlyn Conley, who was accused of and charged with the murder of Mary Yoder, the mother of her long-term boyfriend and her former boss. While the woman, to date, continues to claim her innocence, the jury did not see it in her 2018 sentencing.

The crime, which now goes back nearly a decade, is the subject of Little Miss Innocent: Passion. Poison. Prison, a new true-crime docuseries from Hulu, which is slated to premiere on September 20, 2024. The synopsis for the series reads:

"Tells the story of Kaitlyn Conley, a 31-year-old former receptionist who claims she has been wrongfully convicted of the 2015 killing of Mary Yoder, her former boss and the mother of her ex-boyfriend Adam."

Alongside the case investigation, this series will also provide viewers with Kaitlyn Conley's version of the events. The former receptionist is currently incarcerated at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in Westchester County, New York, after she was sentenced for voluntary manslaughter.

Who is Kaitlyn Conley and what did she do?

Kaitlyn Conley worked at Mary Yonder's thriving chiropractor business and also dated her son, Adam, for many years. Adam and Kaitlyn's relationship was alarm bells all around, with the two reportedly engaging in a long-drawn toxic relationship, which saw too many ups and downs to keep track of.

Conley had known Adam since 2011, and she had even claimed that Adam was abusive to her. Despite this turbulence in her personal life, she was not a person of any special interest till the sudden death of Mary Yonder.

Yonder reportedly complained about a stomach ache on July 20, 2015, but paid no particular heed to the same. However, her condition only worsened over the next day. Her husband, William Yoder, rushed her to the hospital, but it was too late to save Mary, who passed away on July 22.

Medical authorities took some to examine and determine that she was poisoned to death with Colchicine, a medicine used to treat gout. Soon, an anonymous tip seemed to implicate Adam, Mary's son, who did have a motive but had an airtight alibi.

But then Kaitlyn Conley's name soon popped up in association with Adam. The tip also claimed that the bottle of Colchicine would be found in Adam's car, and it was there. But the sheer straightforward nature of this revelation seemed to hint that Adam was purposefully framed.

The receipt of the Colchicine led the authorities to Kaitlyn Conley. Moreover, Kaitlyn had been working at the clinic for about four years. Soon, authorities discovered the many offsetting things Kaitlyn had done, which included giving Adam supplements that made him sick.

The police were eventually able to connect Kaitlyn completely to the Colchicine and she ended up admitting that she wrote the anonymous letter but continued to claim that she did not poison Mary Yoder.

Where is Kaitlyn Conley now?

Conley finally went to trial in April 2017. Prosecutors alleged that she killed Adam's mother as a form of revenge on her boyfriend. Her first trial ended in a mistrial as the jury was unable to reach a verdict.

At her second trial, the jury finally reached a verdict with the help of a new evidence against Conley. She was convicted of first-degree manslaughter but was found not guilty of second-degree murder.

Only 24 years old at the time, Conley was sentenced to 23 years in prison. She remains incarcerated at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in Westchester County, New York, and continues to claim that she is innocent.
