The upcoming episode of Fatal Affairs on Investigation Discovery is all set to follow the case of Michelle Kitterman's murder, which was orchestrated by Lacey Hirst-Pavek, the wife of the man Michelle was having an affair with. Dating back to 2009, this case, which was also embroiled in other elements like drugs, shook the small town of Tonasket, Okanogan County, Washington, where Kitterman's brutally murdered dead body turned up out of nowhere.

The upcoming episode of Fatal Affairs, titled Meth, Mayhem & Murder, is set to air on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 9.00 PM EST. The synopsis for this episode reads:

"When a new, hot girl arrives in town, it causes heads to turn, including that of the local heartthrob; however, he's married - and waist-deep in the town's drug problem; when they embark on an affair, it leads to mayhem and murder."

As indicated in the synopsis, the murder of Michelle Kitterman was a direct result of her affair with Danny Pavek, the husband of Lacey Hirst-Pavek. Though Lacey did not kill Michelle herself, she hired a Spokane drug dealer and two of her subordinates to "take care" of Michelle.

Michelle was later found in a driveway in the Pine Creek area south of Tonasket. She was allegedly stabbed 39 times. Lacey Hirst-Pavek was arrested and charged with the crime. She was ultimately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, the highest punishment for this crime in the state.

Who was Lacey Hirst-Pavek and what did she do?

Hirst-Pavek was a 36-year-old resident of Okanogan County, Washington. She was married to Danny Pavek. She was working at Sunrise Chevrolet at the time Michelle Kitterman entered her life.

Kitterman, who was new in town, reportedly became the talk of the town because of her looks. She was soon introduced to Danny Pavek, and they began a passionate affair. Kitterman was also allegedly deep into drug abuse, especially meth.

Lacey Hirst-Pavek's disdain for Michelle Kitterman was quite well known as she had discussed it with some of her friends and acquaintances. In early 2009, Hirst-Pavek allegedly asked Tansy Mathis, a methamphetamine dealer, to make Michelle "disappear." As per court documents, Mathis communicated that it would take $10,000, and Hirst-Pavek allegedly agreed.

Then on March 1, 2009, Michelle Kitterman was found stabbed and beaten to death in a driveway in the Pine Creek area south of Tonasket. She was 11 weeks pregnant. The murder was reportedly carried out by Tansy Mathis and two of her underlings, David E. Richards and Brent Phillips, the latter of whom eventually confessed and testified against all the other three, including Lacey Hirst-Pavek.

Where is Lacey Hirst-Pavek now?

As the investigation progressed, just a month after the murder, Hirst-Pavek was arrested and charged with the murder of Michelle Lee Kitterman and her unborn child. Mathis, Richards, and Phillips were also arrested and charged for the crime.

Lacey Hirst-Pavek was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after the jury found her guilty of aggravated first-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter.
