Where was My Lady Jane filmed?

Hampton Court Palace, London

The majority of My Lady Jane has been filmed at the Hampton Court Palace in London, a historically relevant site that once served as the home for Henry VIII. The Hampton Court Palace is a key filming location for My Lady Jane.

While the interiors have changed significantly since the 16th century, the gardens remain largely untouched and feature prominently in the series. Despite changes over time, the site remains relevant to the historical Lady Jane Grey.

Ashridge Estate, Hertfordshire

Another filming location, the 190 acres of Ashridge Estate once served as the residence of King Henry VIII and Princess Elizabeth I. The country house, located in Hertfordshire, is one of the multiple filming locations of the show.

The site is described as a ‘neo-gothic’ country house which has a range of history attached to it, with Lady Jane also known to have lived in it for certain periods of her life. Located on Beacon Road, Ringshall, it features prominently in the first season of the series.

Herstmonceux Castle, East Sussex

The East Sussex Castle is one of the most historically relevant sites featured in My Lady Jane. The building is one of the oldest from this time to have made it to the modern age and was turned into a ‘picturesque ruin’ back in the late 18th century.

It then became a Royal Observatory due to the clear atmospheric conditions of Greenwich in the 1950s. The historic site is now a study-abroad center for Queen’s University and has featured in the show. It is located in Hailsham, East Sussex, today.
