Peter Zazzara is the son of Vincent and Maxine Zazzara, the couple who became victims of a spree of 14 murders committed by serial killer Richard Ramirez. The serial killer was infamous for having robbed, abused, r*ped, murdered, and mutilated people for money and his own psychedelic pleasure.

Pater Zazzara's parents, Vincent and Maxine, had their residence in Los Angeles County, where both of them were killed in 1985. Ramirez was pen-named the Midnight Stalker for his way of killing the victims after sneaking inside their house at night.

Ramirez's crimes spanned from April 1984 to August 1985, and in just one year, it terrified the Greater Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area.

Peacock's new docuseries titled Richard Ramirez: The Night Stalker Tapes made its release on December 10, 2024. It features a personal interview with the son of Vincent and Maxine Zazzara.

Peter Zazzara is currently a successful general contractor who owns two companies. Peter, who is also a certified home inspector and builder, is currently a native of the city of Orange, California, and spends most of his time on his entrepreneurship and humanitarian goals.

Peter Zazzara had proudly served the nation in the Marine Corps during the 1970s, after which he started his own business ventures. As per Cinemaholic, Peter went on to start his own two companies named Zazzara Construction Company and Zazzara Okumbing, ever since the early 1990s.

He developed expertise in the field by earning a Master's degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems from Brownson Technical School, Anaheim, California.

Peter currently runs a successful company that provides services for Kitchen and Bathroom plumbing projects. He additionally serves as a certified home building inspection and roofing contractor.

Peter Zazzara is also connected to the charity, which has created and raised funds for Honoring Our Fallen.

It was around 2 am on the night of March 27, 1985, when the Night Stalker broke into the Zazzara residence in Whittier, Los Angeles, California. Peter's father, Vincent, was asleep when he was shot by Ramirez. Maxine woke up terrified by the noise, took the shotgun, and pulled the trigger on the killer, but failed as it was not loaded.

This sent Ramirez into a fury, and he shot Maxine straight three times, after which he butchered her body. Richard Ramirez was known to be a Satanic worshipper who was finally caught by the investigators in 1989.

As per a People article, published on December 10, 2024, Ramirez was sentenced to 13 death sentences, with charges including homicide, r*pe, and abuse.

The murder of Vincent and Maxine left Peter Zazarra in a horrified state of shock. Peter admitted that he was filled with an intense rage to kill the person who had murdered his parents brutally without any reason.

Repeatedly, Peter felt guilty about not being present to protect his parents when Ramirez sneaked into their house.

As per Cinemaholic, Peter Zazarra revealed that he did not attend the trial for the Night Stalker because he would have beaten him in the jury. It was on June 7, 2013, when Richard Ramirez died in prison before his impending execution.

Peter expressed that even after almost four decades, the night of his parents' gruesome murder haunts him to this date. Peter Zazarra accepts he can't even listen to any kind of music that talks about eyes. The murder of Vincent and Maxine left deep scars inside of him, and he started suffering from PTSD, which lasted for years after the murder.
