Outer Banks is an action-adventure drama series that's created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke. The series revolves around the rivalry between two groups of teenagers living on Kildare island, the upper-class 'Kooks' and the working-class 'Pogues', following them on their hunt for lost treasures.

Outer Banks debuted its first season on Netflix on April 15, 2020, followed by its second season on July 30, 2021, and third season on February 23, 2023. The fourth season is divided into two parts of five episodes each, with Part 1 airing on October 10, 2024, and Part 2 set to release on November 7, 2024.

The show's official logline, as per Netflix, reads:

"On an island of haves and have-nots, teen John B enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father's disappearance."

Poguelandia was set in the Bahamas, but it was filmed in the island country of Barbados.

At the end of Outer Banks season 2, the Pogues arrive along the shores of a remote island, they name 'Poguelandia', in the Bahamas.

The island paradise was filmed in Barbados, at locations like the Port St. Charles, island of Holetown and parish of Saint Joseph. The scene where the group first arrives on the island was filmed at the Bathsheba Beach. Its magnificent boulders and giant rocks are captured in the season 2 finale episode.

Outer Banks season 3 picks up one month after the Pogues land on the deserted island and showcases the gang getting used to their new living conditions. They make their makeshift shelter within the island's coves and explore the hidden regions of Poguelandia.

The third season was filmed on the east coast of Barbados, including in the village of Bathsheba, and the island's capital city of Bridgetown.

In the season 3 finale, the group finds the gold treasures of El Dorado and are welcomed back to Kildare Island as celebrities.

Outer Banks season 4 is set 18 months after the gang's return. They use their newfound wealth to buy JJ's foreclosed childhood home and set up a surf and bait shop on the property, which they call Poguelandia 2.0. Scenes for Poguelandia 2.0 were filmed in Charleston, South Carolina.

The show's co-creator Jonas Pate told Entertainment Weekly about season 4's new development in September 2024:

"They come back home to the Outer Banks and they actually build what they had on the island, but even a better version of it: Poguelandia 2.0. They really create their own paradise."
