On December 16, 2015, three masked men entered a gas station at around 9 PM. All of them were reportedly armed. They were there to rob the place. As per the reports, one of the men argued with Crasto, who was working as a clerk at the gas station and went on to shoot him in the chest. The bullet pierced his heart and killed him.

Another clerk, who was behind the register and witnessed the robbery and the murder, claimed that Crasto complied with the robbers' requests, but was still gunned down.

After shooting Conbino Crasto, the three masked men left with their getaway driver. Crasto was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he passed away at the age of 40.

With enough surveillance footage and a speedy investigation, the police deciphered that the four men were Roberto Alvarado, Michael Richardson, Frank Hernandez Jr., and a 15-year-old juvenile. All of them were arrested within five days of the murder.

As per the accused, Michael and Frank met Roberto and the unnamed juvenile on December 16, 2007, at Michael's house at 330 Martin Street in Cleveland, Texas, and Roberto had the idea of robbing a local store. They later went to the store and mapped out their idea.

In the nearby Tanglewood neighborhood, Roberto Alvarado reportedly gave them gloves, masks, pants, and shirts. He also got Frank a gun. The plan was that Michael, Frank, and the juvenile would go into the store and rob it while Roberto would be their getaway driver.

Soon after their arrests, clashing testimonies started appearing, where Frank started claiming that Michael asked him to shoot while Michael claimed that he had no idea Frank was going to kill Crasto.
