The historical drama limited series Say Nothing was released on Hulu on November 14, 2024. The show featured actors such as Lola Petticrew, Hazel Doupe, and Anthony Boyle and chronicled their lives against the backdrop of the Troubles, an ethnic conflict that existed for almost three decades, from the late 1960s to the late 1990s.

To explain the historical perspective of the show, which mainly focuses on Belfast and various regions of Northern Ireland, the creators selected locations that fit smoothly with the storyline. As a result, they recorded scenes in places like Belfast, Liverpool, London, Sheffield, and HM Prison Shepton Mallet (also referred to as Cornhill).

"FX’s limited series Say Nothing is a gripping story of murder and memory in Northern Ireland during The Troubles. The 9-episode series is based on the book by Patrick Radden Keefe. Spanning four decades, the series opens with the shocking disappearance of Jean McConville, a single mother of ten who was abducted from her home in 1972 and never seen alive again."

Say Nothing narrates the experiences of different members of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), and investigates the lengths people will go to for their beliefs. The series explores how a society marked by division can suddenly plunge into armed conflict and emphasizes the long-lasting consequences of extreme violence on all parties involved. Additionally, it examines the emotional and psychological toll that a culture of silence can create on the people and society at large.
