As per reports, before Sal Shabazz was killed, Jacquie Shabazz (Sal's wife) and Tashara Jackson (her co-worker) had a physical altercation, during which Sal kicked Jackson a couple of times in the head too. After the fight, Jackson went over to her alleged lover Jeremy's house. Later, the two went to Sal’s house and waited for him to arrive.

Reportedly, Jacquie Shabazz was living in a hotel with her family that night, for safety reasons. Her husband, who was intoxicated, decided to stay alone at home instead. While Sal was on a call with his wife, she heard gunshots, after which she called 911 for help.

When the officers arrived, they found Sal dead near the doorway. He was shot in the torso and the head.

When the investigations began after Sal Shabazz's murder, the detectives speculated that on April 7, 2021, Tashara Jackson along with Jeremy Todd Pettway drove to Sal Shabazz’s home at midnight. When Sal opened the door, he was shot several times in the front doorway of his house and killed. Jackson didn’t pull the trigger and it was Pettway who killed Sal Shabazz.

However, it was discovered post Sal’s death that Sal’s wife Jacquie Shabazz, and Jackson had workplace issues and had multiple fights in the past. Allegedly, Sal’s wife Jacquie had an extramarital affair with another worker, whose wife was friends with Jackson. Jacquie Shabazz confessed the same in court.

She also admitted to slashing Jackson's tires on one occasion. Jackson allegedly returned the favor by messing with the Shabazz's car. This intensified their feud and resulted in the death of Sal.

After Sal's death, the police arrested the two suspected killers based on CCTV footage that showed them driving towards the victim's home. Their cellphone location was also tracked, which revealed that Jackson and Pettway had gone to Sal’s home at the time of the murder.

There were also text messages exchanged between the suspects that showed them guilty. With the investigations going on, the murder weapon which belonged to Pettway was also recovered later on.

Although Jackson didn’t pull the trigger, all the circumstantial evidence proved that she helped the killer and also had the motive to kill Sal Shabazz (because of the hatred she had for Sal's wife Jacquie Shabazz). The jury declared Tashra Jackson guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to murder and sentenced her to life in prison in 2022.

As per Yahoo News, Pettway, who pulled the trigger also went to trial in November 2021. Although the trial resulted in a hung jury concerning the gun charges and murder, he was found guilty of conspiracy to murder, and a new trial was scheduled for April 2022, in which he was convicted of the remaining charges.

Feuds Turned Fatal season 1 episode 1 is titled Workplace Wars, and the synopsis for the same reads:
