The upcoming episode of Dateline on NBC, one of the most famed true-crime shows of all time, is set to cover the murder of Justin Hilbert and its impact on Tonya Bischoff and their newborn child, Logan. The case remains shrouded in mystery as no one was formally charged with the murder of Justin, and no perpetrator was singled out exclusively either.
This case will be explored in Dateline season 33 episode 2, titled Wrong Turns. The episode is set to air on NBC at 9 PM EST on Friday, October 4, 2024. The synopsis for the episode reads:
"A new father is found dead on the side of a road. Then the stabbing of a young woman leads police on a high speed chase. Could these two chilling murders be connected?"

As the synopsis states, this episode deals with two separate murders, which may have only one connection between them- Tonya Bischoff. The second murder is that of Tonya's ex-husband's girlfriend, Bailey Sharp.
There are speculations that Tonya's ex-husband, Jared Bischoff, may have murdered her husband, Justin, but the police could not connect Jared to this case.
Though Tonya also believed the same about Justin's murder, the lack of clues means that the widow and the child are yet to get justice for the death of Justin Hilbert. In the aftermath of the case, Tonya stepped out of the limelight and started focusing on raising her son, Logan, away from all the scrutiny.
Who is Tonya Bischoff and where is she now?
Tonya Bischoff fell in love with Justin Hilbert after they met sometime in the mid-2010s. By 2015, they were engaged and were also pregnant with their first child. In 2016, Logan was born to Tonya and Justin, and they began making preparations to marry.
However, their plan to build a life together and raise their son came to an abrupt end when Justin was murdered on June 21, 2016. This rather shocking turn of events came as a surprise to everyone, given Justin's calm and likable nature.
As investigations kicked off, the police could not find any leads about Justin's murderer. Weeks later, Tonya's ex-husband, Jared Bischoff, whom she had left due to his violent tendencies, ended up murdering his 23-year-old girlfriend, Bailey Sharpe. He was arrested and charged with the murder.
Since this case followed closely on the heels of Justin's murder, the authorities and Tonya Bischoff, started believing that Jared could be behind the murder. However, after extensive investigation, the authorities could not find anything to link Jared to the murder of Justin Hilbert, even if he had committed it.
Eventually, the authorities could not locate Justin Hilbert's killer, and Justin's friends and family members gave up hope of receiving justice for this cold-blooded murder.
After the elaborate investigation yielded no result, Tonya Bischoff decided to move away from the public eye and raise her son without the shadow of the mammoth crime that shook their world. Not much is known about Tonya and her son since 2017. They were residents of West Warwick, Rhode Island when the last news about them came out.
Tonya and Hilbert's family continue to hope for a resolution to Justin Hilbert's murder.
