The much-awaited romantic drama Virgin River season 6 premiered on Netflix ahead of the holiday season. The latest season was released on December 19, 2024, and all 10 episodes are now available on the streaming platform. In the new season, the show continues to explore themes of love, loss, community, and resilience through the love story of Melinda Monroe and Jack Sheridan.
Based on Robyn Carr's Virgin River book series, the series is set against the stunning backdrop of the fictional, close-knit town of the same name. In the series, the town of Virgin River is a part of Northern California in the United States. In reality, the romantic drama is filmed in the natural scenery of Vancouver, Canada, and its surrounding mountainous areas.

Virgin River season 6 is filmed in various locations across British Columbia, and the beauty of the region serves as the perfect stand-in for the fictional town. A lot of the series was filmed in Snug Cove on Bowen Island, Burnaby, and Port Coquitlam.
Most of the residential and public spaces featured in the show are also real places across Vancouver.
Watershed Grill, Squamish
Jack’s Bar is a popular spot in the show, and the characters occasionally hang out in the restaurant. The Watershed Grill in Squamish serves as the exterior of this bar, while the interior shots were filmed at a local studio.
Murdo Frazer Park, North Vancouver
Mel's Cabin, one of the most loved locations in Virgin River season 6, is an actual house in Murdo Frazer Park, North Vancouver. In reality, the cabin is the residential place of the caretaker. The interior of the cabin is a soundstage.
Speaking about the setup, the location manager of Virgin River season 6, W. Robert 'Fluffy' Millar, told Tudum by Netflix,
"They use big photographic backdrops hanging from the ceiling, so when you’re inside and look out the window, it’s actually high-resolution photos taken of the area around the real cabin. It’s a beautiful little park with tennis courts and running trails and a pond on it with turtles and stuff."
Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park
The tourist spot in the city of Burnaby, Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park, is another prominent location in Virgin River season 6. The scenic riverfront park located in the north of Fraser is the location for Paige’s Bakeaway Truck and many community picnic scenes.
Klahanie Campground, Squamish
Klahanie Campground, located in Squamish, serves as Fitches Bed and Breakfast in Virgin River. The campground is a 45-minute drive north of Vancouver, and many landmarks like Howe Sound, Stawamus Chief, and Shannon Falls are visible from here.
122 First Street, New Westminster
The Victorian mansion located at 122 First Street, New Westminster, is the front of Doc Mullins' clinic, where many significant scenes have been shot over the years. The grand Queen Anne-style home was built in 1889 and has been a part of many shows like Supernatural, Jinxed, and Caprica.
