Emma Myers will lead the cast by playing Pippa "Pip" Fitz-Amobi, a high school true crime enthusiast who ventures into an independent investigation.

Myers has previously grabbed worldwide attention with her performances in the popular Netflix series Wednesday and the movie Family Switch (2023). Myers will be accompanied by the likes of Zain Iqbal (Ravi), Anna Maxwell Martin (Leanne Amobi), and India Lillie Davies (Andie Bell), among others.

The lead writer of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is Poppy Cogan and the show is produced by Florence Walker. Dolly Wells will be in charge of the direction. Executive producers of the project include Matthew Read, Lucy Richer, the writer of the book, Holly Jackson, and others.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder: Expected plot

Myers's character Pip thinks that a certain murder-case, five years old and already closed by the police, was not investigated upon properly and that the real culprit is still at large. She starts investigating the case all over again, enlisting the help of Ravi, whose elder brother Sal was deemed the culprit by the police years ago. Pip and Ravi brave danger after danger to get to the truth.

Pip believes that Sal was wrongly accused of the murder of Andrea "Andie" Bell and that the actual murderer had framed Sal. Pip's mission is to prove the innocence of Sal but that is not easy as the real murderer makes things difficult for her.

In the book, the story takes place in the fictional town of Little Kilton, Buckinghamshire (in the US version, the setting is changed to Fairview, Connecticut). Jackson's book became immensely popular thanks to the bibliophiles of BookTok, a subcommunity of TikTok. Encouraged by this, Jackson penned two further books and a novella as part of the series.
