What happened in House of the Dragon season 2 episode 6?

In the sixth episode of the second season of House of the Dragon, "Smallfolk," several storylines are explored. Daemon Targaryen remains at Harrenhal, where his mental state remains bad.

He keeps having visions of his brother, the late King Viserys, haunting him and thus fueling his paranoia. He believes himself to be poisoned but hasn't quite sorted out yet that Alys Rivers might be at the bottom of it.

Rhaenyra Targaryen finds a new love interest in Mysaria. As much as they respect each other, they both despise the same enemies, and hence, this alliance can be quite formidable—it wedges Rhaenyra's claim to the throne alongside Mysaria's strategic acumen and network of connectivity.

Aemond Targaryen does not waste a single opportunity to flex his muscles, even if it is against his family. He removes his mother, Alicent Hightower, from the small council, further straining the relationship between them.

The Lannister army moves into the Westerlands and is positioned to advance on Harrenhal. But it is waiting for Aemond and his dragon Vhagar to avoid being cut to shreds by Daemon and Caraxes.

The episode is heavy in character development, focusing on the inner turmoil and interpersonal relationships of key figures. That sets up the conflicts and alliances moving forward. Overall, Episode 6 is a mixture of court politics, personal drama, and impending dragon warfare.

Did Max release a preview teaser for House of the Dragon Season 2 episode 7?

The teaser for House of the Dragon Season 2, Episode 7, opens with Rhaenyra confronting Addam of Hull, bonded to the previously riderless dragon Seasmoke. It indicates that many dragon riders have grown in number, and the power dynamics are about to shift.

The next shot shows Aemond Targaryen preparing for battle. His dragon, Vhagar, is shown in the background. He shows grit in his eyes, indicating that he is all set to fight.

Daemon Targaryen has stayed back at Harrenhal to deal with house troubles and the memories of his late brother, King Viserys. All of that mental stress continues to take its toll on his mind and gives his track some tension.

It has scenes of secret convenes and strategic discussions between noble houses. One can see Alicent Hightower plotting with some of her allies, showcasing the political maneuvering taking place.

The "Burning Mill" is literally in flames and represents what the Targaryen civil war brings upon them: destruction and chaos. This scene foreshadows the high stakes and devastating impact this conflict will have.

Episode 7 of House of the Dragon Season 2 will be available for streaming on HBO and Max for the U.S. audience on July 28, 2024, at 9:00 pm ET.
