In 2018, Lois Riess also killed Pamela Hutchinson, who was supposedly her lookalike. She allegedly wanted to steal Pamela’s identity, because of which she killed her. She also stole her car and withdrew cash from Pamela’s account after murdering her.
In 2019, after her arrest in Texas, she entered a guilty plea and confessed to killing Pamela. Similarly, in 2020, she confessed to killing her husband. She received separate life sentences for these murders and remains incarcerated to date.

The synopsis of the show as per Rotten Tomatoes reads;
"Lois and David Riess live a seemingly normal life as parents to three children, several grandchildren, and a thriving business in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, until, one day, David’s dead body is discovered and Lois goes on the run."
It continues:
"As Lois, now in prison, recounts her childhood and upbringing, a disturbing psychological portrait emerges of a woman battling many emotional demons. However, Lois’s methodical behavior after the murder may show the work of a calculated killer when another body is discovered."
