William Yoder became a focal point of the investigation into Mary Yoder's death after the 60-year-old Chiropractor was poisoned to death in her house in New York. The investigation into the case eventually singled out Kaitlyn Conley, the girlfriend of Mary's youngest son, Adam, but there are plenty of doubts that remain about this case.

This is also the subject of Hulu's latest docuseries, Little Miss Innocent: Poison. Passion. Prison., which looks at every side of the case, especially at Kaitlyn Conley's version, in which she continues to claim she is innocent.

The series premiered on Friday, September 20, 2024, on Hulu. The synopsis for the same reads:

"Tells the story of Kaitlyn Conley, a 31-year-old former receptionist who claims she has been wrongfully convicted of the 2015 killing of Mary Yoder, her former boss and the mother of her ex-boyfriend Adam."

Though Mary Yoder's murder was allegedly solved, there have been multiple cries about Kaitlyn Conley being punished wrongly. Kaitlyn, too, still claims she is innocent. The only other person who looks suspicious enough to commit this murder is William Yoder, especially after what he did following Mary Yoder's death.

William Yoder has stayed out of the limelight since Kaitlyn's trial and is believed to be living in Whitesboro, New York.

Who was William Yoder?

William Yoder came across Mary when they were both studying for a degree in Chiropractic Medicine from Life Chiropractic College. William was a year senior to Mary, but the couple hit it off immediately after they met.

After graduating from college, the two got married and had three kids together, Liana, Tamaryn, and Adam. After continuing their respective practices for decades, the two decided to start a chiropractic care practice on Oriskany Boulevard.

The family-run clinic, called Chiropractic Family Care, saw significant traction and soon became a well-known practice in the area. By the time their children grew up, they had a thriving business and everything seemed to be going perfectly. William Yoder also wrote two books in the meanwhile, Lighted Clearings for the Soul: Reclaiming the Joy of Living and The Happy Mind: Seven Principles to Clear Your Head and Lift Your Heart.

That is until Mary complained of a stomach ache on July 20, 2015. Within two days of this seemingly normal illness, she passed away in Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center.

Eventually, authorities deciphered that Colchicine poisoning was the cause behind Mary's death. This kickstarted a homicide investigation.

William Yoder moved on surprisingly quickly after Mary Yoder's death

A lot of drama took place around Mary's death, including an anonymous letter implicating her son, Adam, and the prospect of Kaitlyn Conley's involvement.

However, one thing that seemed to stand out for the authorities was William's blooming love affair with one of his wife’s sisters. Despite their decades-long marriage and commitment to each other, William moved on within months of Mary's death and even started allegedly living with her sister.

With no physical evidence tying him to the crime, and Kaitlyn being far more suspicious, he was eventually dropped as a suspect. But his name emerged again when campaigners started to protest Kaitlyn's innocence.

Because of the allegations against William, he decided to lead a private life, disappearing completely from the public eye after the trial of Kaitlyn. But he continues to reportedly remain in Whitesboro.

He will perhaps become a person of interest once again because of the Hulu docuseries.
