The latest episode of People Magazine Presents: Crimes Of The 2010s on ID will delve into Holly Bobo's murder and its many alleged perpetrators, including Zach Adams. Zach was sentenced for kidnapping, r*ping, and murdering the 20-year-old nursing student from Darden, Tennessee. This remains one of the biggest cases to ever emerge from the county.
This case is the subject of People Magazine Presents: Crimes Of The 2010s season 1 episode 2, titled Tenessee Stalker. The synopsis for the episode reads:
"One morning in 2011, a 20-year-old nursing student vanishes without a trace; panic sets in when her brother finds fresh blood outside of their house; what follows is a notorious missing person's case in Tennessee history."
After a lengthy investigation, the authorities arrested six people in the case. This included Zach Adams, his brother Dylan Adams, their friend Jason Autry, another friend Shayne Kyle Austin, and brothers Jeffrey and Mark Pearcy.
Out of the six people, three were convicted as the primary perpetrator or an accessory. Zach Adams was convicted of all the charges and sentenced to prison for life with additional sentences. He continues to serve there but still denies his involvement in the crime.
What did Zach Adams allegedly do to Holly Bobo?
Holly Bobo went missing on April 13, 2011, from her family home after her brother allegedly saw a man arguing with her in the garage. He believed this man to be his boyfriend, but it turned out to be someone else. After Clint Bobo saw his sister walk towards the woods with his man, she was never seen again.
What followed was an extensive investigation with no leads. Ginseng hunters found Bobo's remains in September 2014 in Decatur County, Tennessee. The area is almost 20 miles from where Bobo disappeared. An autopsy revealed that she was shot in the head.

Dylan Adams was initially arrested on unrelated weapon charges, and he allegedly claimed to have seen Holly Bobo at their house with his brother the day she disappeared. Dylan also revealed that Zach had allegedly assaulted Holly and had taped it. Although a few other people have confirmed the existence of the video, it has yet to be found.
Though there was no physical evidence linking them to the crime, Zach Adams, Shayne Kyle Austin, and Jason Autry were all arrested. Their testimonies as well as the story changed multiple times, with no clarity, even now, as to what really happened.
In February 2015, Austin, who was believed to be the man Clint saw at Holly's place, took his own life, complicating the case.
Zach was ultimately sent to trial based on circumstantial evidence and testimony from Autry. Zach Adams was found guilty of all charges by the jury and sentenced to life in prison, along with further sentences for especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated r*pe.
The narrative presented at the hearing claimed that Austin and the Adams brothers went to the Bobo residence to teach Clint how to make meth, a claim Clint continues to deny. There, Holly Bobo got enraged and screamed at them. This led to them kidnapping the 20-year-old and r*ping her in a local barn. Following this, they murdered her with a gunshot to the head and disposed of her body in the woods.
Zach Adams has not admitted to the murder, and Autry later took back his entire confession, leading to a whole new angle.
As of now, Zach Adams remains in prison but has filed a petition for a retrial following the change in the testimony and new pieces of evidence.
