White Lies season 1, the first installment of the South African crime thriller miniseries, premiered in South America on M-Net, DStv channel 101 on March 7, 2024. The show comprised eight episodes, and one was released weekly until its conclusion. Additionally, from April 2024, onwards episodes of the show were also made available on Stan, an Australia-based streaming service.
The cast of White Lies season 1 comprised several actors in significant roles who the audiences knew of from other popular projects. The cast included Natalie Dormer (known for the Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games franchise) who portrayed Edie Hansen and Brendon Daniels (known for Trackers and Zulu) who played Forty Bell.

1) Natalie Dormer as Edie Hansen
Natalie Dormer led the cast of While Lies season 1 with her character Edie Hansen. Her character is an investigative journalist who was forced to deal with an unforeseen circumstance at the very beginning of the series in the form of her brother, Andrew's death. This incident followed by a couple of others transforms and reshapes her identity drastically.
Natalie Dormer is a 2015 Empire Awards winner who, besides the projects that have been mentioned before is best known for The Tudors (2007–2008; 2010), Picnic at Hanging Rock (2018), and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (2020).

2) Brendon Daniels as Fortune "Forty" Bell
Brendon Daniels is another actor who assumed a pretty important role as Detective Fortune Bell in the show. Bell's character presented a pretty strong front when it came to the outside world, however, at home, with his family, he was as docile and doting as one can be.
Brendon Daniels is a 2015 South African Film and Television Awards winner. Besides the projects mentioned before, Daniels is also known for his contributions to Desert Rose (2022), Spoorloos (2022), and Fraksie (2022-2023).
3) Daniel Schultz as Daniel McKenzie
Daniel Schultz played Daniel McKenzie in White Lies season 1. In the show, McKenzie is depicted as an individual with everything that anyone would ever wish for. However, despite that, he was unhappy and had struggles of his own. He deeply cared for his sister, Jaime who was affected by Andrew's death.
Daniel Schultz is fairly new to the industry. Some projects he has been associated with, include Only Daughter (2020) and Upon the Edge (2022).
