Mathew Perry unexpectedly passed away on October 28, 2023. A year later, his house in L.A. was sold to an Indian-origin real estate developer, film producer, and entrepreneur, Anita Verma-Lallian, who purchased the Friends actor's Los Angeles home around October- November 2024.
Lallian posted about her family acquiring Matthew Perry's property on Instagram with a picture of them offering a puja. In the caption, she mentioned that being a real estate developer, she was instantly drawn to the property, specifically because it faces the Pacific Ocean. She also clarified in the post that her acquisition of the property had nothing to do with the house's previous owner (Perry); it was due to "love" for the home.
In the post, she also expressed her desire to renovate the house in a manner that would best fit her tastes while respecting Perry's vision.
The part of her post that highlighted this aspect read:
"We chose to honor the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life, his immense talent, and all the joy he brought to so many people. The decision to purchase the home had nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love of the home. We do plan to keep some of the design elements. The batman logo in the pool is definitely staying."
Additionally, the post also mentioned:
"It’s a piece of paradise that is filled with light and the perfect vacation home for us. Can’t wait to make new memories in it."
