On April 25, 2024, the first episode of THEM: The Scare season 2, a continuation of the black horror anthology series premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Besides a few jumpscares and scenes that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, the show also did something that surprised a few people.

Who was Dominic Orlando from THEM: The Scare season 2?
As mentioned previously Dominic Orlando was one of the writers who made THEM: The Scare season 2 happen. Orlando was a prolific writer and producer with several credits under his belt. His most famous works in writing includes Mindhunter, The OA, and Outer Range. His work in producing also includes the likes of A Murder at the End of the World, Outer Range, and Nightflyers.
Besides his contributions to the world of television, Orlando was also actively engaged in writing plays. Following his death, the Playwrights' Center opened a fund in his name that would help aspiring playwrights with their careers. The notice for the fund comprised a brief introduction to Orlando's career as well. It read:
"In 2003, at the age of 39, Dominic came to the Playwrights’ Center on a Jerome fellowship. This opportunity raised his profile and catapulted Dominic’s career into the national conversation. For the twenty years prior, he had co-run a small independent theater company in New York, where he wrote, directed, and produced scores of his plays."
It further added:
"The support of the Jerome Fellowship allowed Dominic to focus on his craft and to make connections that led to larger productions nationally, significant commissions and eventually led to his success in television."
What was THEM: The Scare season 2's Dominic Orlando's cause of death?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a CAA spokesperson revealed that Dominic Orlando had died on November 17, 2021, at the age of 57 due to cancer-related complications. He is survived by his mother Lillian, brothers John and Steven, and sister-in-law Sara.
Following his death, in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Orlando's family described the writer as a person with whom everyone wanted to sit next to at Thanksgiving and at their brunches and barbecues in Minneapolis and LA.
"He was the loudest voice, arguing, talking, stating his firm opinion and yet still, somehow, he always managed to be an empathetic and avid listener. A mentor, friend and a deeply generous soul, he spent his life building social circles the way he built stories, and he was the heart of every circle,” the statement continued.
What can you expect from THEM: The Scare season 2?
All eight episodes of the second installment of the critically acclaimed series THEM were released on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, April 25, 2024. The trailer for the same was released on YouTube on March 28, 2024. Without spoiling too much of the series, the gist for THEM: The Scare season 2 reads:
