All American season 7 may be one of the most highly anticipated shows in the coming year, but it seems that the CW drama will have to cover up for a lot in the supposedly final season. We already found out earlier that Daniel Ezra, who played Spencer James in the series, wouldn't return to the seventh season as a regular.

Additionally, four other series regulars, Samantha Logan (Olivia Baker), Cody Christian (Asher Adams), Karimah Westbrook (Grace James), Monét Mazur (Laura Baker) and Chelsea Tavares (Patience), will also not return in full capacity in All American season 7. It means that only Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou, and Bre-Z are the only series regulars who have signed up for a return to the final season.

While it would mean that the last season could differ significantly from all the previous ones, it also means that the story could go on a new track with new primary characters and a whole new storyline.

Why are so many series regulars not returning for All American season 7?

As revealed earlier in June, Daniel Ezra won't return to reprise his character because he and showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll came to the decision to end Spencer's arc on a high note without needlessly stretching it. Hence, his story was concluded in the sixth season, which also gave a perfect platform for Spencer's farewell.

The reason the other characters are also not returning is quite similar. The ending of season 6 saw Olivia and Spencer marry and move out, which means that Olivia will also not be a regular anymore. Patience embarked on the next phase of her life while Laura also did something similar.

All this meant that these characters were quite done with their respective arcs and hence decided to not stay on as regulars anymore.

How is All American season 7 going to adjust to these changes?

With only three of the original characters remaining as series regulars, the show will have to find a dynamic way to keep things interesting throughout the final season, which will also look forward to perfecting the ending, as it's the final season of the show.

For one, All American season 7 has already added two new regulars, Osy Ikhile and Nathaniel McIntyre. Ikhile will take on the role of Cassius Jeremy, Beverly High’s new football coach, while McIntyre will play the role of his son, Kingston Jeremy, aka KJ, who will also be the latest quarterback of the team.

This will perhaps add some much-needed drama to the tale and will also give this season enough firepower to have a good ending.

Will the previous series regulars appear in All American season 7?

Yes, as per the reports, the series regulars of All American, who are departing ahead of season 7, will make appearances in some capacity throughout the final season. The CW has already confirmed that Daniel Ezra direct and guest-star in the new season.

The other departing regulars are also expected to stay on as guest stars throughout the season.

All American season 7 is slated to premiere in 2025. There will be more updates about the show soon. Stay tuned.
