Currently, in its milestone 50th season, Saturday Night Live (SNL) is on a post-holiday break and will not air a new episode tonight. SNL, the legendary sketch comedy series founded by Lorne Michaels, has been a key part of NBC’s lineup since it first aired in 1975.

John Mulaney hosts SNL tonight, January 11, 2025

On January 11, 2025, SNL Tonight will feature John Mulaney as the host for the sixth time. His previous stints include episodes in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022, with notable musical guests like Jack White, Thomas Rhett, David Byrne, and LCD Soundsystem.

The episode will also include several fun sketches, such as a parody set in a Duane Reade at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which turns into a “Circle of Life” moment, with Ego Nwodim and Kenan Thompson performing in The Lion King-inspired costumes. Chloe Fineman will lead a quirky contest, while Andy Samberg returns to play RFK Jr.’s “Baby Bear Carcass,”.

The political cold open will feature a surprise appearance from Vice President Kamala Harris, joining Maya Rudolph for a comedic exchange. Chappell Roan took the SNL stage by storm, with a country twist during her second performance of the night. After performing Pink Pony Club Roan debuted her brand-new song The Giver.

The catchy refrain, "I get the job done," set the tone for a cheeky song that argues only a woman knows how to truly treat another woman right. With a band decked out in denim and Roan surrounded by animated bears, the Grammy-nominated artist showed she’s one of the most unique performers right now.
