Irish actor Jack Reynor, known for Midsommar, Sing Street, and Transformers: Age of Extinction, has been announced as the latest addition to the stellar cast of the Amazon Prime series Citadel.

According to Variety, Jack Reynor will join the cast in the upcoming second season of Citadel. Amazon Prime renewed Citadel for season 2 on May 25, 2023. The espionage thriller series received a lukewarm response upon its release on Prime Video last year, however, the showrunners decided to renew it for a second season, hoping to pick up on the positive aspects of the plot.

Citadel is created as an interconnected series with a story meant to connect to other espionage series set in different nations. According to Variety, an Italian spin-off titled Citadel: Diana is scheduled to be released in 2024. Similarly, an Indian series Citadel: Honey Bunny is also planned for production.

Citadel season 2 will see the return of Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the leading roles, as well as the addition of Jack Reynor.

Jack Reynor is an Irish actor who rose to prominence after playing the protagonist in the 2012 film What Richard Did. The actor was born in Colorado on 23 January 1992. His family moved to Ireland when he was two, and he pursued his studies in the country as well.

Jack Reynor went on to feature in popular films such as Transformers: Age of Extinction (2013) alongside Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz. The actor has also worked in popular films such as Mowgli (2018), which was originally filmed in 2015.

Reynor received the prestigious World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting at the Sundance Film Festival, for his role in the Irish drama film Glassland. His touching performance in his role as a young taxi driver dealing with his alcoholic mother was critically acclaimed. His role as Brendan in John Carney's 2016 musical-coming-of-age film Sing Street, also earned him massive praise.

One of his most prominent roles came in Ari Aster's 2019 horror film Midsommar. Jack Reynor played Christian, alongside Florence Pugh's Dani. In the film, the couple unknowingly enters a cult and gets trapped in their strange rituals. In 2023, Jack Reynor worked on two interesting projects, The Good Mother and Flora and Son.

Citadel season 2 marks Reynor's third appearance in an Amazon Prime Video project, as he previously appeared in the 2022 science-fiction television series The Peripheral, produced by Amazon. He also made an appearance on Amazon Prime Video's anthology series Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams.

Who are the cast members of Citadel Season 2?

Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are returning as Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh respectively. The two drove the first season with their exhilarating chemistry as the two agents working for the titular spy agency.

Veteran actress Lesley Manville will also return as Dahlia Archer, a UK ambassador and agent of the rival agency Manticore.
