Who was James Hollcroft? 26-year old actor found dead in Mexico after going missing

Mexican actor James Hollcroft, 26, was recently discovered dead after he went missing on September 3, 2024. Hollcroft was associated with Centro de Educación Artística (CEA), an entertainment educational institution in Mexico run by media conglomerate, Televisa. He was featured on shows like Como Dice El Dicho.

His sister Jane Hollcroft confirmed the news of his demise through an Instagram post on September 7. In a heartfelt post, she wrote (loosely translated from Spanish):

"I will love you forever, thank you for the years we shared together and for giving me the most magnificent moments I could ever experience. You will always be present in our hearts, little brother."

James Hollcroft's brother-in-law Arturo Avila Meija, also paid tribute to the late actor on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the time he spent with James over the years. Arturo described James as the best brother, uncle, and son. He wrote:

"Thank you for being the brother, uncle, and great son that you were. We will miss you a lot, this really breaks my heart. Today, we lower the curtain here, but I know you’re in heaven staging the great production you always talked about."

He added:

"Thank you for everything you taught me, for always listening, for having that sympathy that I always lacked. I love you brother, I will always carry you in my heart."

James Hollcroft's last known whereabouts

James Hollcroft had not been in contact with his friends and family since September 3. His sister Jane shared a Facebook post about the same, which has been deleted now.

Jane requested help from everyone to find her brother as soon as possible. She shared that as per his last known whereabouts, he was on the way towards his home in the Tizapan neighborhood in Mexico City. The young actor worked and trained at CEA, whose studios are not far from his home.

Jane wrote in the Facebook post:

"We are concerned for his safety. He is light brown, approximately 1.80 meters tall, with honey-colored eyes. His family and friends are looking for him. He has not communicated with us since that day, which is something that never happens."

A spokesperson for CEA's Televisa Studios shared a tribute post on Instagram where they added a video of James Hollcroft's latest work and wrote (loosely translated from Spanish):

"We will always remember the last acting work of our graduated actor James Hollcroft. We share a sincere tribute and recognition from the TelevisaUnivision family to his passion and professionalism in acting #ProudCEA❤️ Work done at the 7th Diploma in Television Production organized by TelevisaUnivision."

As per Hollcroft's Facebook page, he was born on April 4, 1998. He was originally a resident of Manzanillo, Colima. He had around 11,000 Instagram followers.

James' last Instagram post was shared on August 17, 2024, and the comments section of all the posts was restricted to those who were followed by him. The profile also disclosed that he was hardly active on the platform since he took long breaks before sharing new posts.
