Yellowjackets season 3 has come with new news. A fresh cast member has been added to the team for season 3 of the show as reported by several media houses on August 27. The new addition is none other than Joel McHale.

For the unversed, Joel McHale is an American actor and comedian, who has starred in numerous films, TV shows, and more. He is also a popular television host.

Yellowjackets season 3 was renewed by Showtime in December 2022, a few months after season two finished airing. Season 2 had a nine-episode long run and finished airing on March 28, 2023.

The official synopsis of the show as per Rotten Tomatoes reads:

"Yellowjackets tells the narrative of a team of wildly talented high-school girls soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to warring, cannibalistic clans, while also tracking the lives they have attempted to piece back together....."

While no date has been announced by Showtime, season three of this psychological drama is expected to arrive on the small screens sometime in 2025.

Joel McHale is a 52-year-old actor, TV host, and comedian. He has previously been a part of movies and shows like Deliver Us from Evil (2014), Blended (2014), Spy Kids: All the Time in the World (2011), and Community (2009-2015) among others.

He is now set to star in Yellowjackets season 3 as you already know. There is no information available yet about the character he will play on the show. The star however has shared the news of his addition to Yellowjackets season 3. On his Instagram, he shared a post and captioned it as -

"I’m very excited to be a part of this light romantic comedy series...."

He is also popular for previously hosting The Soup (2020) on E! Network. Joel also played the role of Jonny Cage in a high-demand action film titled Mortal Combat Legends: Cage Match (2023). Apart from movies and shows, he has also voiced The Scientist in Fortnite, a battle royal game, and X-PO, a character in Lego Dimensions, previously.

Originally from Rome, Joel finished his MFA at the University of Washington, after which he came to Los Angeles, to land a super spot in the industry. Ever since then, he has not looked back. At present, Joel is all set to host Crime Scene Kitchen season 3 alongside Curtis Stone for Fox network. He also recently starred as Frank Shaw in Fox’s Animal Control (2023-present ).

McHale is happily married to Sarah Williams and has two sons, Edward and Issac.

While there has been no trailer for season three of the show yet, one is expected soon, since filming started in mid-2024, as revealed by the show's Instagram page. A bonus episode between two seasons is also going to arrive for viewers of the show, as hinted by Ashley Ayle previously, who serves as a creator for this show alongside Bart Nickerson.
