Downforce is an upcoming racing comedy about a father, Sir Trevor, and his estranged daughter, Victoria, who team up to rebuild their racing business. Despite their differences, they work together to restore Trevor's legacy. In May 2024, Hulu picked up the pilot. Alex Berg, known for Meet Dave and Hell Baby, will direct and serve as an executive producer alongside Adam Countee.
Variety reported on September 4, 2024, that the Irish actress Eve Hewson is set to play the role of Victoria, the ruthless investment banker and alienated daughter of Sir Trevor. The Emmy-awarded Australian actor Murray Barlett is set to play the role of Sir Trevor the founder and businessman of a racing company, who reunites with his daughter back after years.

In Hulu's Downforce, Even Hewson will be playing the role of Sir Trevor's daughter, who has been climbing the financial ladders, with her sharp wit and intelligence in banking. Changes in events lead her to come back into the family business and save her heritage from disappearing away.
Hewson first made her breakthrough by appearing in the 2011 comedy-drama film This Must Be the Place, directed by Paolo Sorrentino. After making several appearances in films and television, Hewson went on to appear in the 2020 drama miniseries The Luminaries, playing the role of its protagonist Anna Wetherell. Hewson played the role of Adele in Netflix's Behind Her Eyes the following year.
Hewson played the role of Flora in John Carney's musical drama film Flora and Son in 2023. She went on to appear in the second season of Apple TV's dark comedy series Bad Sisters (2022). Recently, Hewson played the role of Amelia Sacks in Netflix's crime mystery film The Perfect Couple, starring alongside Nicole Kidman.

Murray Barlett will be playing the role of Sir Trevor, a revolutionary businessman, who is the founder and owner of a racing team. But his legacy is on the verge of a sharp fall when his team fails to do well on the track and in the accounts. This is the time when she reunited with his daughter after many years apart. Victoria knows the business, she has an in-depth knowledge of racing, and together they strive to prevent the business from fading away.
Barlett got an Emmy for his supporting role as Arnold in HBO's dark comedy series The White Lotus (2021). Barlett did an outstanding performance playing the role of Frank in an episode titled Long, Lost Time, in HBO's The Last of Us, for which he was nominated for an Emmy back again in 2023 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. His other major works include Welcome To Chippendales (2022), and Nine Perfect Strangers (2021). Barlett has recently wrapped up production for the upcoming drama film At The Sea.
ABC Signature will be serving as the studio for Downforce with Adam Courtee and Alec Berg working together. Other executive producers include Martey Bowden, Daniel Ricciardo, Wyck Godfrey, Amy Solomon, and Lionsgate Television.
