What to know about Lamarcus Alton in Bel-Air
Justin Cornwell's Lamarcus Alton first appears in the fifth episode of Bel-Air season 2, titled Excellence is Everywhere. His first scene in the show is at the hospital, where he introduces himself as Hilary's ex-boyfriend.
In season 2, episode 6, he joins the Banks at their family reunion and claims he has matured since Hilary last saw him. Lamarcus adds that he won't stop until he gets her back. Their reunion begins with friendship but turns romantic when they kiss before heading to Paris in episode 8 of the second season.
Bel-Air season 3 brings big changes for the Banks family, including Lamarcus's engagement with Hilary. However, their second chance at romance hits a bump when Lamarcus collapses on the football field during one of his games. Hilary, who watches from the sidelines, is visibly horrified.
Lamarcus spends some time in the hospital after being diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Meanwhile, they continue planning their wedding and ultimately decide on a private ceremony at Martha's Vineyard. However, on their wedding day, Lamarcus is made aware of a secret that makes him think twice about marrying Hilary.

Hilary confesses that she met with Jazz a few days earlier for 'closure' and admits that they kissed months before, though she insists it didn't mean anything. Lamarcus walks out after hearing this revelation. However, after heartfelt conversations with Will Smith, Ashley, and Hilary, Lamarcus decides to proceed with the wedding. It is a happy occasion for the newlyweds and their families.
However, their joy is short-lived. During their honeymoon, as Hilary excitedly discusses plans to rent a yacht and go island hopping, Lamarcus unexpectedly passes away.
Fans may have noticed in season 3 episode 10 of Bel-Air, during the wedding scene, the pastor addressed Lamarcus by his full name: Lamarcus "Trevor" Alton. Those who watched The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air may recall that Hilary's fiancé from the original sitcom, Trevor, also passed away.
