Malcolm Barrett, who gained recognition for playing Seth Reed in The Boys, was recently accused of s*xual assault. The news comes after an anonymous woman filed a complaint last weekend at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, making severe allegations against Barrett.
According to TMZ, Malcolm Barrett and the woman were close friends for a long time, and on one occasion, the duo had drinks together at night. However, the woman later discovered that Barrett was allegedly attempting to touch her in bed.
The incident happened in Los Angeles and the woman mentioned in her complaint that Barrett reportedly tried to get intimate without her permission. She claimed that things were completely normal on the day of the alleged assault as the duo had drinks outside and they went to Barrett's residence to have some more drinks.
Notably, the woman later underwent a s*xual assault kit and an investigation has been launched to find more details, with assistance from the LASD Special Victims Bureau. Further updates are currently being awaited.
Meanwhile, Malcolm and his representatives are yet to share a response to the allegations that have been featured in the woman's complaint.
Malcolm Barrett has become a popular face for his appearance in The Boys
Malcolm Barrett has gained a large fanbase for his role as Seth Reed, a PR writer at Vought International, in The Boys. Though featured since season 1, he has appeared in only seven episodes.
Seth Reed is the person who also created Starlight's outfit in the series and he completely rejected the latter's objections towards the same for its revealing nature. This was part of a plan where Seth and Evan worked to rebrand Starlight and earn profits as they developed a concept where she would accept her femininity with an outfit.
In season 1, Seth Reed was dating Ice Princess, who turned to ice after being intimate with him. He later joined a support group for people affected by Supes. In season 2, Seth and Evan helped Queen Maeve come out as a lesbian. In the next season, A-Train asked Seth to help rebrand him, focusing on his Black roots.
The Boys has been one of the most critically acclaimed shows on Amazon Prime Video. Following the success of four seasons, the series will soon return with a fifth and final season, as confirmed by Karl Urban earlier this year.
Malcolm Barrett has many films and TV shows in his credits
The 44-year-old has been associated with the world of entertainment for several years. In an interview with The Official Black Magazine last year, Malcolm said that he prefers to bring his real nature to the screen as much as possible and recalled his early days by saying:
"I was the weird and smart kid from Brooklyn who grew up in the hood. It wasn't cool to be smart kid where I grew up, but I hung around other smart kids in the neighborhood."
Coming to his acting career, Malcolm Barrett started by playing minor roles in different projects. He slowly began portraying the lead in shows like Luis, Better Off Ted, and Genius. He has also been a part of films such as Dear White People.
