The Star Wars universe is home to a vast array of species, each contributing uniquely to the galaxy's intricate tapestry. Among them, the Muuns stand out as a tall, thin humanoid species, who are known primarily for their control over the InterGalactic Banking Clan. These enigmatic beings - often perceived as greed-driven bankers - have left an indelible mark on the financial and political landscapes of the galaxy far, far away.

Originating from the planet Scipio, Muuns have been integral to the galaxy's economic stability and turmoil. Their incredible mathematical capabilities and keen intelligence have made them the backbone of the IGBC, a powerful organization that played key roles during the tumultuous Clone Wars periods and beyond.

Exploring in detail about the Muun's biology and appearance in Star Wars

Muuns can be easily recognized by their distinct physical characteristics. They appear slightly below two meters tall on average, with their height enhanced by elongated skulls.

The heads devoid of hair have small eyes over a long shallow nose causing nasal voices at times. Small flat ears are placed directly under their skullcaps, while they have lean arms ending in five-fingered hands, where their last two fingers tend to be shorter than others. These features, along with their slim legs contribute to their overall bony appearance.

This species is unique not only physically but also intellectually gifted people with overwhelming mathematical abilities, which they extensively employ at working for IGBC.

Some Muuns like Nix Card can grow up to 2 meters and 46 centimeters tall, making them even more impressive figures in the Star Wars universe. Moreover, few individuals from among them could touch upon Force power, adding some depth into characters.

What is the history of the Muuns in Star Wars?

The Muuns hail from the mountainous planet of Scipio, where they built their empire amidst snowy peaks. Their dominance in the financial sector was solidified through the IGBC, a powerful entity that influenced the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.

The IGBC's control over the galaxy's finances meant that both sides of the conflict relied heavily on their resources for funding the war effort.

Senator Rush Clovis, a human raised by Muuns, became an influential figure in the Galactic Senate and represented IGBC. Nevertheless, his term as a senator was marred by scandal and corruption, which eventually led to his downfall and replacement by Nix Card. The IGBC itself suffered tremendous upheaval when its ruling body, the Core Five, was arrested on charges of corruption.

Despite these challenges, the Muuns maintained their influence through figures like San Hill, the IGBC Chairman who also served on the Separatist Council until his demise at the hands of Darth Vader.

The Muuns in The Acolyte

The Muuns' presence extends beyond the financial and political realms into the darker aspects of the Star Wars saga. Early in The Acolyte Episode 8, the camera reveals a Muun with long, grey fingers and red eyes, dressed in a dark cloak – a familiar sight to fans of the Sith.

This character is none other than Darth Plagueis, the influential Sith Lord and master to Emperor Palpatine. Plagueis' appearance underscores the Muuns' deep-rooted impact on the galaxy's history, blending their financial acumen with the dark side of the Force.

San Hill is one of the most important Muuns in Star Wars who served as a chairman at IGBC when Clone Wars took place. San Hill was involved with Count Dooku’s separatist movement and also played a significant role on the Separatist Council. The sudden death of Darth Vader, though, put an end to his life immediately after the Clone Wars.

The Muuns' long lifespans in Star Wars with individuals not considered adults until the age of 95, ensure that their impact on the galaxy will be felt for generations.
