Who is Nev Schulman married to? All about his wife and kids as 'Catfish' host recovers from severe accident

Well-known TV host Nev Schulman met with an accident where he suffered injuries to his neck on August 5, 2024. Schulman is popular for his appearances in Catfish: The TV Show and has been married to Laura Perlongo since 2017.

On August 11, Schulman opened up on everything that happened on the day of the accident through Instagram. He added a lineup of photos to the post, including glimpses of the injuries. Schulman recalled the day before the accident, saying that he went fishing with his family and added:

"We found an available boat (thank you captain ben!) and caught all kinds of fish, most of which we threw back because they were too cute. Especially the puffer. It was magical. A day full of love and wonder in the way only calm days in nature with family can be."

Nev Schulman said that the next day brought a different experience for him, saying that things suddenly changed for him. He stated that he could not pick up his son from school since he got unconscious after the accident and he was back to normal by Thursday, August 8.

He continued:

"I broke my neck. C5 and C6 to be exact. Stable fractures. I'm not paralyzed. My hands were a question mark there for a minute but the human body is incredible and so are humans. The incredible knowledge and care from everyone in the medical community has been so remarkable."

Nev Schulman wrote that it was not easy for him to hear that people who have been in similar accidents were never able to walk again, adding that he was lucky to be alive.

He ended by writing:

"We hadn't planned on fishing last Sunday and my instinct was to say no to scramble-planning a day trip, but looking back a week later, I'm so glad I said yes."

Nev Schulman has been a father of three children from his marriage to Laura Perlongo

Nobody's Fool star Nev Schulman has gained popularity through frequent TV appearances. He married Laura Perlongo in 2017 and expanded his family.

Perlongo, who studied at Boston University, is now a freelance creative director with extensive experience. She began her career as a staff writer at Haute Living Magazine in 2007.

She then became a communications director at ABS Notebooks and later came to Party Earth as a travel writer. She served as a creative copywriter for Sid Lee and Mother New York. Perlongo was promoted to Senior Creative in the latter in 2013.

Nev Schulman and Laura Perlongo's marriage ceremony was organized at the former's father's residence in East Hampton. Notably, the pair's first child Cleo James was born a year before their marriage and they had two more kids, Beau and Cy, in 2019 and 2021.

Furthermore, the couple launched an ATTN series titled We Need to Talk where they responded to questions related to relationships from the audience. Perlongo once appeared for an interview with Hamptons Magazine, saying that she wants to be with her children as much as possible and feels lucky that she has been able to adjust between her work and family.

She added:

"The best I can do is remember that balance isn't necessarily day to day or week to week but over the course of a lifetime. Did you make time for yourself and your family and your work when you needed to?"
