Who is playing the Menendez brothers in Monster Season 2? Everything you need to know 

Still riding high on the success of Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Netflix is all geared up for the release of Monster Season 2. It is titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, based on the 1996 case revolving around the Menendez brothers who were convicted for the murders of their parents.

According to Variety, Monster Season 2 will be a joint project by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. Serving as executive producers for the second installment of the show will be Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan, Javier Bardem (who will also star in the show), Alexis Martin Woodall, Scott Robertson, David McMillan, Eric Kovtun, Louise Shore, and Carl Franklin.

As for who will be playing the titular characters in the show, Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch have been roped in to play Lyle Menendez and Erik Menendez, respectively. Additionally, Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny have been respectively cast as José Menendez and Mary Louise Menendez.

Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan led-Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will see Nicholas Alexandar Chavez and Cooper Koch take on the roles of Lyle and Eric Menendez respectively. For the uninitiated, in 1996 Lyle and Eric Menendez were convicted for the murders of their parents José and Mary Louise Menéndez.

During the court proceedings, the two brothers maintained that they had killed their parents after years of enduring s**ual, physical, and emotional abuse. However, their propositions were not taken into account.

It was alleged that the two brothers killed their parents in the hopes of acquiring their father's property. They were tried at least twice in court after which the juries decided to sentence them to life in prison without parole.

Is there a trailer for Monster Season 2?

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story does not have a full-length trailer as of yet. However, Netflix has offered audiences a peek into what they can expect from the true crime series with the release of an approximately 48-second preview on August 20, 2024, announcing the date of release of the show as September 19, 2024.

The short clip sees a car pulling up to a huge house with the words "On August 20, 1989, Lyle and Eric Menendez murdered their parents" flashing on screen. Moments later two men (ideally the Menendez brothers) are seen entering the house secretively with guns in their hands. While loading their guns they go through a door and a shot is heard in the background.
