Rebecca Ferguson plays the heroine Juliette Nichols, aka Jules to her friends and family, in the Apple TV+ dystopian sci-fi drama Silo. She's an engineer who rebels against authority and thirsts to discover the secrets of their world. Her character arc in the series is directly intertwined with the stories of the other characters in the drama, particularly his father.
Jules' father in Silo is Doctor Pete Nichols, a character played by Scottish actor Iain Glen. His character was mostly featured in the series' first season to flesh out Jules' backstory and childhood trauma, but he remained a key character in the second season as the consequences of Jules' failing to clean played out.
Outside of Silo, Glen is a familiar face in several other TV shows, including The Rig and Game of Thrones, as well as dozens of movies.
Who is Iain Glen, Jules' father, in Silo?
Scottish actor Iain Glen plays Juliette Nichols' father, Pete Nichols, in the Apple TV+ series. He's a pediatric doctor who lives in the Mids, which is located below the Up-Top and where the administrative levels are located. He met Jules' mother, Hanna Haslam, played by Sienna Guillory, in Year 105 AR, aka 105 years after the rebellion.
Pete and Hanna had two children, Juliette and Jacob, but the latter had heart complications and died in Year 122 AR. Hanna, who was a surgeon, tried to invent a device that could help her son, but it was strictly against The Pact, so the Judicial intervened. Suspecting that Pete betrayed and snitched on her to Judicial, Hanna committed s**cide shortly after.
Jules was 13 years old then, and after her brother and mother's death, plus the belief that her father turned on her mother, she left her only living relative to go to Mechanical in the Down Deep. Jules and Pete don't have a close relationship throughout the series, but he is a recurring character who often appears when Jules needs help.

He also saw Jules when she walked outside, refused to clean, and disappeared over the hill from the screen in the cafeteria.
