Chicago Fire season 13 premiered on September 25, 2024, on NBC and has continued to narrate the stories of firefighters working at Firehouse 51. Led by showrunner Andrea Newman, the viewers can expect the return of their favorite characters including Kelly Severide, Stella Kidd, Randall McHolland, Christopher Herrmann, Violet Mikami, Joe Cruz, and Darren Ritter in the new season.
However, beloved fans of the show may have to bid farewell to Chief Wallace Boden. At the end of season 12, he was elected to the post of 1st Deputy Fire Commissioner. After succeeding Chief Robinson, Boden was required to move out of the team. He wanted Christopher Hermann to take his role but Hermann could not attain the requirements necessary for the position.
This led to the unexpected arrival of Dom Pascal, played by the American actor Dermot Mulroney, as the new Chief in the office. Chicago Fire season 13 begins with Chief Dom Pascal addressing the members of Firehouse 51. In the first episode titled Monster in the Field, the Chief opens up about his ground rules for the team. Pascal conveys his respect for Boden but makes it clear that they are not similar.

What do we know about Chief Dom Pascal in Chicago Fire season 13
Till now, limited information is available on the past life of Chief Dom Pascal. But the season opens up recounting that Dom Pascal started his career as a firefighter in Chicago and spent the next 10 years in the service. After that, he moved to Miami but eventually came back to Chicago.
No clear reasons are still unavailable stating what exactly motivated Pascal to come back to ChiTown. But when Pascal's old CFD colleague gives him a visit, the viewers get a hint that the Chief has some disturbing past events, related to Miami. Pascal tries to end the conversation, hinting it affects him still.
Also, at the end of the first episode of Chicago Fire season 13, Dom Pascal goes back home only to find it locked. Pascal yells at his wife Monica to open the door, who sneaks out from the window. She expresses her disappointment of her husband completely being indulged in his work, and forgetting his family ties.
Monica suggested that he should've stayed in Miami, which Pascal detested saying he only moved back to Chicago for her, as he didn't want to give up on their marriage. Hence, the viewers could unravel that Chief Dom Pascal has a tumultuous relationship with his family.
However, the new Chief has strict regulations, and in no way he is ready to tolerate disruptions. On the very first day, Pascal established a set of ground rules for the team, involving not using phones during lunch break for better interaction. After every mission, the group is supposed to have a meeting to discuss damages and further improvements.
Additionally, Dom Pascal reinitiated the CFD handbook rule stating no immediate family members can work in the same station during the same shift. This can cause problems for the familiar couple Severide and Stella in the future episodes of Chicago Fire season 13.
