The incident resulted in Daniels being chased by the authorities. To ward them off and clear his name from the allegations, he embarked on a journey to uncover the truth. He came across several people on the way who he believed were pulling the strings. However, they were not the individuals he sought.

He was ultimately directed to the correct individual, Rodney Kraintz is a data analyst and head of a company, Revitalize. He learned that Kraintz's firm converted major talking points and policies that the company considered important into a very presentable format to attract more audiences.

This mechanism permitted them to control the political dialogue in the United States and allowed the organization to raise vast sums of money for campaigns essentially aimed at meeting its interests.

As previously mentioned, while on his quest to find the truth, Muncie Daniels discovered everything that was happening around him was being controlled by Rodney Kraintz. He was at the top of the hierarchical chain and through his company Revitalize, he was attempting to shape the political narrative of the US.

He also tried to facilitate a uniform way of thinking and lead them toward desired political outcomes. He also called the hit on Mark Simon, whose death led to a chain reaction of events in The Madness.

Towards the end of the show, it is revealed that Mark was killed because his ideals gradually went astray and no longer aligned with Revitalize's. Additionally, he threatened to leak all about Revitalize's malpractices to the public with the help of YouTuber Laura Jennings, which resulted in both of them being killed.

At its core, The Madness is about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When Colman Domingo's Muncie Daniels went on a solo trip to Poconos, he had not envisioned that he would find his neighbor dead in the woods. However, that is exactly what happened.

What's worse, he was also framed for his murder which urged him to go on a path of exploration to find the real perpetrators and clear out his name in the process. Netflix's Tudum briefly highlights this debacle, by mentioning:

"For much of The Madness, it appears to the world that Muncie rented a vacation home next to secret white supremacist Mark Simon (Tahmoh Penikett) and killed him. After all, he was the one who found Mark’s body in a remote Poconos cabin, he doesn’t have an alibi, and planted evidence against Muncie starts piling up."

It further goes on to emphasize how Muncie became tangled in the chaos by highlighting:

"But viewers know that that narrative is anything but true — and almost nothing in The Madness is what it seems. Mark didn’t die because Muncie hated him. He was killed as part of a much wider election disinformation plot led by billionaires at the highest levels of power. Muncie is just the fall guy."

All episodes of The Madness are currently streaming on Netflix.
