Scott Lee Kimball, born on September 21, 1966, in Boulder, Colorado, is a convicted serial killer and con artist. As reported by CBS News, in the early 2000s, while working as an FBI informant, he committed at least four murders and is suspected of 21 unresolved killings. His victims included Jennifer Marcum, Kaysi McLeod, LeAnn Emry, and his uncle, Terry Kimball. Kimball used his informant status to gain trust and access, which he then exploited to carry out his crimes.

Kimball's criminal activities began with non-violent offenses like fraud and forgery. He was first convicted of passing bad checks at age 22 in Montana. While acting as an informant, he provided the FBI with mostly false information, which allowed him to continue his fraudulent schemes and murders undetected. He often used his victims' identities and financial resources to further his cons, creating the illusion that they were still alive.

In 2006, authorities investigating a check fraud case linked it to Kimball. This led to the discovery of his involvement in multiple murders. He was arrested on March 14, 2006. In 2009, Kimball pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and received a 70-year prison sentence. He is currently incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary, Florence High, in Colorado.
