Chad McQueen, son of Steve McQueen, passed away on September 11, 2024, at 63. Chad's friend and attorney Arthur Barens revealed that he died of organ failure, as per The New York Times.

Chad's father Steve McQueen was also a part of the entertainment industry. He was featured in films such as The Great Escape and was married to former model Barbara Minty. Steve McQueen died in 1980 and before Minty, he tied the knot twice with Ali MacGraw and Neile Adams.

Chad's family confirmed the news of his demise through Steve McQueen's official Instagram page. They added two pictures in a post alongside a statement which reads in part:

"His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering commitment to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and dedication. His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent, but also served as a way to honor his father's legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him."

The post mentioned that the family would continue Chad's legacy alongside his grandfathers. They even requested privacy from everyone as they mourn the loss and celebrate Chad's life altogether.

The comments section of the post was also flooded with tributes, where people recalled his flawless work over the years. A user even praised his "kindness and honor" and that everyone would miss him forever. Chad's colleagues also appreciated the way they worked with them on different projects.

Chad was also active as a martial artist and race car driver. He was known for playing Dutch in The Karate Kid and had many other films in his credits, including Martial Law, Jimmy Hollywood, and Red Line.

The Beech Grove, Indiana native accumulated a huge fanbase over the years by portraying different roles. Apart from acting, Steve was a racing expert and was the owner of multiple luxurious cars such as the Ford GT40 and Chevrolet 3800.

As mentioned, he tied the knot thrice. His first marriage was to singer and actress Neile Adams in 1956. She had many films and TV shows in her credits, including Fuzz and The Eddie Fisher Show. Steve's son Chad was born from this marriage and the pair also welcomed a daughter named Terry Leslie.

Following his divorce from Adams in 1972, Steve McQueen exchanged vows with actress Ali McGraw the following year. The latter is mostly known for playing Lady Ashley Mitchell in the soap opera, Dynasty.

Steve split from Adams in 1978. He married former model Barbara Minty in 1980, he died the same year after suffering a heart attack. Apart from being active in the world of modeling, she wrote a book titled The Last Mile.

McQueen gained recognition for his appearance as Josh Randall in 94 episodes of the CBS show, Wanted Dead or Alive. The show aired for three seasons and also led to a film adaptation, that came out back in 1986. Furthermore, he was featured in the popular anthology show, Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Steve also managed to grab the lead role in the 1958 film, Never Love a Stranger. He was even praised for his performances in films like The Great Escape, Love with the Proper Stranger, The Sand Pebbles, The Reivers, and Papillon.
