All about The Umbrella Academy's latest cast addition Victoria Sawal
Victoria Marie Sawal is a 31-year-old actor renowned for her diverse roles in film and television. Hailing from Scarborough, Ontario, she holds Canadian nationality but is proud of her ethnic background, which is distinctly Filipino.
Victoria has been working extensively in extra roles and commercials and pursued a music career before she made a breakthrough, with a role in the 2013 film Pacific Rim.
Since then, she has appeared in notable television series like The Handmaid’s Tale (2017), where she was cast as Tyler, and Star Trek: Discovery (2019-2020), where she essayed the role of Lt. Naya.
She has also featured in multiple episodes of Y The Last Man. Victoria Sawal will soon feature as Jenni in the drama Morningside, and is also developing two short films.
Who is Jennifer in The Umbrella Academy season 4?
Victoria Sawal's Jennifer was first mentioned in season 3 of the supernatural drama, where the death of Umbrella Ben was referred to as “the Jennifer incident.” The character's presence was also teased in the Sparrow Academy timeline, as Sparrow Ben had sketches of her in his room.
She only makes her physical appearance in the first episode of season 4, when we meet a man named Sy Grossman who wants the Umbrella Academy to find his daughter, Jennifer. The search for her leads them to a small town controlled by Reginald Hargreeves, where Ben befriends a waitress named Rosie, who is actually Jennifer.
Abigail had explained that she created the marigolds, but in the process, she also created an opposite particle named “durango”. What made Jennifer so special was that she was the host of the durango particles Abigail created along with the marigolds. Abigail also warned about the catastrophic events that would be triggered if the durango particle and a marigold came into contact.
That's why the town was hiding Jennifer, and it attacked the Umbrellas when they arrived. The interaction between Jennifer and the Umbrellas would trigger The Cleanse, a destructive event that would lead to the extinction of everything.
This event would get rid of the broken timelines problem and give the solution to the multiverse problem by restoring the main timeline.
