Viewers who have been following the latest developments in Tell Me Lies are likely familiar with the unhealthy dynamic between the main characters, Lucy and Stephen. Each episode highlights the escalating toxicity of their relationship, which serves as a constant reminder of the challenges they face.
Tell Me Lies season 2 is currently streaming on Hulu, however, the audiences are still reminiscing about the events of the show's previous season. This is partly because several plot points that were not entirely explored previously are being delved into in the current one.
One such major plot point chronicles Macy, who sadly died in the show's first season in a car accident while Stephen was driving. In the second season of the show, Stephen's involvement in Macy's death came up during a conversation between Lucy and Diana, where Lucy revealed that Stephen had left Macy to fend for herself after the crash.
This brought back memories for the audience, who recalled the time Lucy sent an anonymous letter to the Dean, pointing out Drew's role in Macy's death since he was the one driving the car that crashed into Stephen's.

Lucy wrote the letter to the Dean in Tell Me Lies Season 1
After Stephen crashed into Drew's car in season 1 of Tell Me Lies while driving in an inebriated state with Macy by his side, he panicked and left the scene without Macy, technically leaving her to die.
When Macy's death in the accident later came to light, Stephen tried his best to shirk responsibility by giving a completely different narrative of the incident during his conversation with Lucy.
His modified narration placed responsibility for the crash on the other person who was behind the wheels of the car that crashed into the one Stephen was driving. This person was Drew.
When Lucy came to know of his identity, she wrote an anonymous letter to the Dean divulging the details of the incident. Although the Dean did not end up taking any significant action, Drew was seen drowning in a pit of despair as he constantly held himself responsible for Macy's death.
Later when Lucy came to know about Stephen's warped account, she immediately started seeing Stephen in a bad light and held him responsible for Macy's death. She believed if Stephen had not left the scene of the accident during the crash, Macy would have still been alive.
In season 2 of Tell Me Lies, Lucy brings up the incident while talking to Diana, Stephen's current girlfriend, hoping to show her Stephen's toxic behavior. Despite being initially unsettled by what Lucy shares, Diana remains unaffected, as she seems to be under Stephen's spell.
