In episode 5 of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, a lightsaber is discovered by the team, belonging to Captain Tak Rennod. Rennod is introduced as a treasure hunter with a mysterious past.

The discovery of the lightsaber can lead to many new story arcs in the upcoming episodes of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

Who was the owner of the lightsaber found in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew?

In Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, the lightsaber found in episode 5 originally belonged to Tak Rennod, a feared pirate and the former captain of the Onyx Cinder. Rennod earned the reputation of a ruthless leader by plundering and destroying other ships in the galaxy.

The home planet of the Skeleton Crew, At Attin, was one of the places that Rennod wanted to loot but it was protected by a mysterious barrier. He discovered the coordinates to At Attin at the Fallen Sanctum on At Achrann. However, before he could succeed, Rennod's ship faced a mutiny and he was betrayed and killed by his concubine.

The mutiny led to the ship crashing on At Attin, killing everyone on board. His treasure, including the lightsaber, remained hidden until it was discovered years later by the characters in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

In episode 5, the lightsaber is found in Rennod's hidden lair at Skull Ridge Mountain on Lanupa. When Jod Na Nawood and Fern find the treasure, they get into an altercation and Nawood physically threatens Fern.

To defuse the situation, Wim wields the lightsaber and threatens Nawood, fulfilling his dream of holding such a legendary weapon. However, he is inexperienced, and he holds it upside down, fumbling his chance and dropping the weapon. Nawood takes the chance to acquire the weapon and uses the Force to summon it.

How was Tak Rennond's lightsaber found?

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew follows a group of four children from the modern planet of At Attin, who find an abandoned ship, the Onyx Cinder. They accidentally activate it, launching themselves into space.

The story follows their adventure on different planets, and in episode 5, Wim and his friends explore the hidden treasure vault on the planet Lanupa.

The planet was once the secret base of Tak Rennod's and has since been turned into a luxury resort with some remnants of his past still left. The place was filled with booby-trapped caves to guard his treasures, and the lightsaber was hidden in this treasure, buried deep within the lair at Skull Ridge Mountain.

As the crew navigated the caves while evading threats, they eventually discovered Rennod’s treasure, setting the plot for the events of the upcoming episodes.

With only two remaining episodes, fans are interested to see how the journeys of the characters progress with this newfound weapon.
