The character of Chozen Toguchi, ever since it was introduced back in the Karate Kid II, has become a bit of a fan-favorite in the overall universe. Initially introduced as an antagonist and a former student of Sato's Dojo, Toguchi eventually becomes a major ally for the Cobra Kai protagonist Daniel LaRusso, and has since evolved into a major player on the Netflix show.

Chozen’s journey ever since he was introduced in Karate Kid II, has been one of the most stellar character arcs in the overall universe, as he continues to remain one of the most-gifted fighters in the series.

However, the recently released Season 2 Part 1 of the show saw Chozen departing to Okinawa, after a somewhat emotional conversation with Amanda LaRusso, played by Courtney Henggeler in the series.

Chozen is the nephew and a former top student of Sato Toguchi’s Dojo, who eventually undergoes a falling out and becomes Daniel’s biggest nemesis.

Skilled in Miyagi-do karate, Chozen’s transformation into a protagonist was completed in Cobra Kai Season 5, wherein he emerged as a major ally for Ralph Macchio’s Daniel. Known to have been in love with his childhood friend Kumiko, Chozen’s sudden disappearance was also revealed to be directly related to his long-time love.

In Episode 3 of Season 6 Part 1 of Cobra Kai, titled Sleeper, Chozen is seen engaging in a poignant conversation with Amanda LaRusso. She explains the importance of spending time with loved ones, which then leads to Chozen boarding a flight to Oknawa, where Kumiko is known to be living.

While the exit in itself was unexplained and the character did not appear in the subsequent episodes of Part 1, the conditions surrounding his departure suggest that it is temporary in nature. Further, the exit may even lead to the re-introduction of Kumiko in the narrative, as she was previously only seen in 1986’s Karate Kid II.

Regardless, fans are bound to question whether Chozen’s journey on the show may have come to an end. Hence, there are simply far too many narrative consequences with respect to the potential permanent disappearance of Chozen Toguchi, which means that his exit from the show can be expected to be temporary for the time being. That will also be good news for the fans, who have seen Chozen evolve into one of the major protagonists in recent seasons of Cobra Kai.
