Hulu, one of the top streaming platforms in the United States, has discontinued the Disney+ add-on option from its subscription plans. The offer was a huge success as it helped Disney+ expand its reach to Hulu's viewership base. It also helped customers pay less compared to the total cost of the individual services and keep their bills in order.

However, the Disney+ add-on feature could be easily canceled by customers, while they kept their orginial Hulu subscriptions. This led Disney to lose many customers. In order to drive them towards their Bundle plans and streamline the entire process, the company decided to stop offering Disney+ as an add-on feature.

The move is reportedly aimed at getting more customers to subscribe to the Disney Bundle and increase their revenue.

Previously, viewers could add Disney+ to their Hulu subscription plans for an additional monthly fee of $2. However, Disney+ has been removed from its list of add-on features going forward. This means that customers wanting to watch Disney+ content will have to sign up for one of the many Disney Bundle plans that start at $10.99 per month.

Customers who are already using the Disney+ add-on right now need not worry as their plan will get updated to Disney Bundle Duo Basic, which offers the same services, at no additional cost. Such customers will not face any disruption in their services at all.

Also, customers who signed up for both these services at a discounted rate, will continue paying the same rates as before, without any additional charges.

But, new and returning Hulu subscribers will not be able to opt for the Disney+ add-on from now onwards. Their best option to access Disney+ content is to purchase the Disney Bundle Duo Basic plan as it offers the same benefits for nearly the same price.

Since October 17, 2024, Disney has hiked up its prices across various subscription plans, including most of its bundle configurations. Under the new pricing system, the cost of Hulu with the Disney+ add-on would have come to $11.99 per month.

But now, customers can get the same service with the Disney Bundle Duo Basic plan (with ads) for $1 less, at just $10.99 per month. For an ad-free experience, Disney Bundle offers the Disney Bundle Duo Premium plan (same service without ads) for the monthly cost of $19.99.

Similarly, the Disney Bundle Trio Basic plan offers access to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (all with ads) for the monthly fee of $16.99. The Disney Bundle Trio Premium plan (Disney+ and Hulu without ads, ESPN+ with ads) is avaiable for purchase at $26.99.

The Disney+, Hulu, and Max Bundle (all with ads) costs $16.99 per month, while the same plan without ads costs $29.99 per month.

The Disney Bundle Duo Basic plan requires customers to cancel both their plans individually if they want to stop using the service. Thus, making it less likely for customers to unsubscribe easily. The Disney Bundle plan will help the company reduce churn by keeping customers long-term and increasing its revenue over time.
