Fans have been looking forward to Loot season 3 since the second season of the Maya Rudolph-led comedy series ended in late May, but any news of renewal is yet to come. The laugh-out-loud comedy starring Emmy winner Maya Rudolph, who also executive produces the show, debuted on Apple TV+ in June 2022.
The second season came out nearly two years later due to the Hollywood strikes in 2024. The show centers on Molly (played by Rudolph), a rich divorcee trying to figure out what to do with the $87 million settlement she scored from her ex-husband and find a new love along the way.
Loot season 3 is highly anticipated because the second season ended on a cliffhanger, leaving fans with plenty of open-ended questions. Hence, a third season is essential to answer and finish the loose ends from the second season's finale.
With Molly and Arthur (Nat Faxon) on the brink of getting together almost all of season 2, only for their story to get sidelined by a new girlfriend at the very end of the season, a third season would help make sense of the jaw-dropping end of their "almost" love affair.

Loose ends left by the second season
Like season 1, the show's second season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, not only for Molly, the show's star but also for the rest of the cast. Simply put, Loot season 3 is essential to tie up any loose ends or any lingering questions left by season 2.
The final scene shows Molly quickly rushing away from Arthur after her impassioned speech and their kiss, which Willa saw. Molly has yet to resolve the feeling of pursuing a man who is already spoken for, even if she wasn't aware of it at the beginning, given that she knows the feeling of being cheated on.
Not to mention that she just learned about Grace's betrayal after she joined the billionaire cult with Norman. Without both Grace and Norman, the future of the Space for Everyone expansion is now in question. The show couldn't possibly end with Molly's setbacks, both in her personal and professional life.

Another character who could benefit from Loot season 3 getting a green light for his character to be explored further is Nicholas, Molly's trusty, openly gay assistant who worships the ground she walks on.
In season 2, details about his birth mother were teased, which turned out to be a false hope, devastating Nicholas. However, he was presented with an opportunity to go to Korea for six months, where he could double down on his quest to find his birth mother.

Popularity and fan engagement
Frequently featured in Apple TV+'s Most Popular Now list, it's safe to say that Loot has found a loyal following in the streaming platform. If there is any known metric for a brand-new Loot season 3 to get a green light, it would be popularity among the viewers, which Loot appears to have.
A potential for fresh settings and storylines
Loot season 2 finale sees Molly jumping into her private jet wanting to get as far away from California as possible, with Nicholas, the ever-trusty assistant, not far behind. When Molly tells Nicholas to choose wherever he wants to go as they escape California, everything points to Korea.
A fresh setting for the seemingly inseparable Molly and Nicholas allows the writers to create endless new storylines for the viewers. The two in a foreign country trying to find Nicholas' birth mother is just one of the many plot points that Loot season 3 can feature.
