On January 15, 2025, NBC's scheduled broadcast of Chicago P.D. season 12, episode 10, along with new episodes of Chicago Fire and Chicago Med, was postponed to accommodate President Joe Biden's farewell address. The address was broadcast live from the Oval Office at 8 pm ET and lasted around 15 minutes, which led NBC to adjust its primetime lineup.
Instead of new episodes, NBC aired reruns from the current seasons of the One Chicago franchise. Episode 3 of Chicago P.D., titled Off Switch, which initially aired on October 9, 2024, was re-aired in place of season 12 episode 10.
The rescheduling means that episode 10 of Chicago P.D. season 12, titled Zoe, is now set to air on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 10 pm ET. The three-hour crossover episode involving Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D., planned for January 29, 2025, will air on its scheduled date. As per IMDb, the logline for the crossover states:
"When a gas explosion rocks a high-rise, Chicago's first responders come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It's the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends our heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own."

Chicago P.D. will return on NBC on January 22, 2025
As stated above, the upcoming episode of Chicago P.D. season 12 will be released on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. The episode will air at its regular time slot of 10 pm ET, and new episodes are expected to air every Wednesday.
The logline for Chicago P.D. season 12 episode 10 reads:
"An unexpected visitor causes disruption for Ruzek and Burgess amidst an emotional investigation involving an unidentified young girl."
Showrunner Gwen Sigan talked to Parade about the new episode and gave a teaser regarding the unexpected visitor.
“We’ll get a little more info about the wedding in that episode. It’s a family member for Ruzek. I think I’ve already said it, so it’s Jack Coleman who we love, who plays Disco Bob. It’s actually a two-episode story, so it’s a two-parter about Ruzek and his father, and just talking about family and how those relationships change over time and aging," she said.
She added:
"It also is paired with this really dark twisted case that gets under Ruzek’s skin, and he can’t let go.”
