The new season of the police procedural drama, FBI season 7, is back on CBS with its high-stake cases, intense drama, and unexpected twists. The latest season premiered on October 15, 2024. Created by Dick Wolf and Craig Turk, the show follows the agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's New York office.

The show, which debuted in 2018, has had an ensemble cast, including Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana de la Garza, John Boyd, and Katherine Renee Kane, who plays Tiffany Wallace. She was an FBI special agent and a former NYPD officer, who was a part of the main cast from seasons 3 to 6.

In season 6, Wallace had an intense storyline that culminated in a dramatic confrontation with the person responsible for the murder of her former partner. She killed the man in self-defense, but the interaction took an emotional toll on her. By season 7, Wallace decided to leave the FBI for a quieter life in Georgia with her sister, as revealed in the season premiere.

Tiffany Wallace will not be a part of FBI season 7 after the first episode. In the premiere of season 7, it is revealed that Wallace has handed in her resignation. Following the death of her partner and friend Thomas Hobbs, she struggled to cope with her mental health.

After killing Hakim Siran, the man responsible for Hobbs' death, in the season 6 finale, Wallace thought she would feel a sense of contentment, which she didn't. Meanwhile, her partner Scola (John Boyd) tried to convince her to stay, stating that her departure did not have to be permanent. Wallace replied to this by saying,

"Scola. Have you ever talked me out of anything? Ever? Once? Ever?”

Her response affirmed that her exit is permanent for now, as speculated by fans after her story arc in season 6. She handled one last case with the team in season 7 episode 1, and when Maggie (Missy Peregrym) suggested they get drinks the next week, Wallace revealed that she was moving to Georgia to be with her sister.

"It was time to look towards new creative endeavors": Katherine Renee Kane on leaving the show

Katherine Renee Kane was a regular cast member of the FBI franchise from seasons 3 to 6. However, after four successful seasons, the actress felt that she needed to move on from the role.

In a statement made to Deadline dated August 20, 2024, Kane said,

“It was time to look towards new creative endeavors, I’m excited for the future and wish the show all the best.”

As for the character of Tiffany Wallace, Kane voiced her thoughts in a statement to TVLine in May 2024, saying,

"I would love [Tiffany] her to continue to have moments of release and sort of breathe and have some levity — in her personal life, but also in her work life with her colleagues. I’d like to to see Tiffany continue to be, like, a bad*ss agent, but also relax into life in a nice way. That would be really, really lovely.”

What's new for the crew of FBI season 7

Four episodes of FBI season 7 have been released so far, and the next episode, titled Pledges, is set to be released on November 19, 2024. Lisette Olivera as Sydney 'Syd' Ortiz, a behavioral analyst agent, was confirmed to be Wallace's replacement on the show as Scola's partner.

However, according to an exclusive by Deadline dated October 31, it was revealed that Olivera's character will leave the show after a few episodes, following her making her first appearance in episode 4. Her age as compared to the other members of the team was cited as a reason for her exit, as she was allegedly too young for an FBI special agent.

The executive producers of FBI season 7 are Dick Wolf, Mike Weiss, Alex Chapple, Amanda Slater, Rick Eid, and Peter Jankowski. Furthermore, the show has inspired two spin-off series, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International.
