Plot summary of Yellowstone season 5 episode 8
Yellowstone season 5 episode 8 starts with a flashback scene showing a young Rip disposing off the body from the last episode at the "train station" with help from young Lloyd. He gets branded with the "Y" symbol in a secret ceremony and pledges his loyalty to John and the ranch.
In the present, Jamie is on a collision course with his father, seeking to impeach him from the governorship role. The attorney general addresses the legislature and senate in an emergency meeting, calling for John Dutton's impeachment.
Meanwhile, John and Lynelle attend a press conference to support Rainwater's denouncement of the pipeline that will run under the reservation's drinking water reservoir. But news reporters catch wind of Jamie's ploy and shift their focus to John instead.
Rip and the cowboys Jake, Walker, Teeter and Ryan prepare to leave for Texas on a year-long stint to look after the Yellowstone cattle at the Four Sixes ranch. Beth plans to join her husband in a week's time. This episode also marks the return of Jimmy, who had left to work at the Four Sixes ranch in Texas with his fiancée Emily in season 4.
Beth confronts Jamie about his plans to impeach their father. She blackmails Jamie with pictures of him burying his biological father at the "train station." But her brother hits back by telling her that he knows where the bodies are buried, not just figuratively, but literally.
He tells her the Dutton family has used the plot of land (they call as the 'train station') as a mass grave for a century to dump the bodies of their enemies after killing them. Later, John explains to his daughter that the train station is "a trash can for everyone that's attacked us." Worried that Jamie will use this explosive secret to destroy the family, Beth suggests taking Jamie out for good.
