In Yellowstone season 5 part 2 episode 13, Rip (Cole Hauser) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) are preparing the Dutton Ranch for a crucial auction. While the ranch itself isn’t being sold, the auction involves equipment, horses, and stock, which would render the ranch almost useless but could potentially save the land. The couple has a tense argument over the future of the ranch.

Rip Wheeler is worried about how they will run the ranch after selling everything, but Beth is set on moving forward because she thinks it's the only way to keep what they have.

As things get more dangerous, Beth decides to take matters into her own hands and go to Texas to watch over Travis Wheatley (Taylor Sheridan), who is selling some of their horses down there. Even though Rip warned her about Travis's plans and didn't trust his friend's intentions, Beth is determined to make sure the horses are sold correctly.

In the meantime, the episode shifts to Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and Mo (Moses Brings Plenty), who are watching the oil pipeline being built. This scene reminds me of the beginning of Season 5 when Rainwater is in a fight with the company that wants to move the pipeline forward.

Even though Thomas Rainwater is angry, he knows that he can't legally stop the project. He talks about the best way to stop the pipeline, which is to get other people to stop selling the materials that will be used to build it. It's a moment that shows how determined Rainwater is, but also how helpless she feels when huge forces try to take over the land.

In Yellowstone season 5 part 2 episode 13 the auction begins with a tribute to John Dutton and Colby Mayfield. In honor of Colby and John, Kayce and Teeter give them riderless horses, and the auctioneer thinks about how Colby died while exercising his freedom and John died protecting it.

After that, Carter asks Beth what will happen next because he doesn't know what will happen to the other horses. In her usual practical way, Beth just tells him to go to sleep.

After the auction, Beth tells Kayce that the money raised was about $30 million, which is enough to keep the ranch going for another year. Soon, though, things get more serious when Kayce tells her she can't save her money that way and begs her to promise not to spend any of it on the ranch.

Before she leaves, Kayce asks Beth a business-related question about taxes: are they based on how much something was bought or sold for, or on its value? Beth says yes. Beth starts to think that Kayce might have a way to save the ranch after being asked this question.

After asking for some time to think about it, Kayce tells Monica that the only way to save the Yellowstone Ranch is to give it away. His idea suggests a big and unexpected change in how the family plans to keep their history alive.

In Yellowstone season 5 part 2 episode 13, the Dutton Ranch faces tough times as the ranch hands return, each dealing with their own emotional turmoil.

Teeter's sadness over Colby is clear as she withdraws into herself, but Walker offers a view of acceptance that echoes a feeling about the cowboy way of life. Colby's death is still a touchy subject, and Rip's casual comment that it was "just cowboy-ing" shows how hard life can be on a ranch.

Beth's story takes her to Bosque Ranch, which is owned by Travis Wheatley, and played by Taylor Sheridan. The ranch, which is also the production company behind Yellowstone, shows how Sheridan is personally connected to the show. Because Travis isn't paying attention, a business deal with Brazilian buyers is about to go bad, and Beth has to step in to save the day.

Tensions rise when Beth meets Sadie, Travis's girlfriend, and starts to think about why she might like him. This moment may change the way she thinks about both Travis and the ranch business.

There are both personal and professional problems for the Duttons as they continue to deal with the loss of a family member, their legacy, and the logistics of running a ranch. The episode seems to mix sad moments with hints of how things will end in the future. However, as usual for the show, it's not clear what will happen next with the ranch and its people.

In Yellowstone season 5 part 2 episode 13, Jamie confronts a pivotal moment in his troubled journey. He waits outside of Christina's house and is eventually let in. They talk about what's been going on.

While the child, James is sleeping, Christina asks if Sarah has been responsible for John's death. Jamie admits the truth but gives a fabricated reason for not arresting her—he claims he feared the threat posed by those Sarah had hired to kill his father.

Christina tells Jamie that she is only helping him because of their child but she doesn't trust his intentions. She tells Jamie to hold a press conference to lead an investigation into the deaths of both Sarah and John.

To protect his future, Christina suggests Jamie admit that he hasn't had an affair with Sarah, calls the people to spread rumors and lies, and states that John's death was an attack on the freedom of the people of Montana.

She keeps telling Jamie that she needs to connect Sarah to the murder and make sure everyone thinks she did it by herself. Jamie leaves with a new mission and a clear, if morally questionable, plan for what to do next because his future is at stake.
